Today we’d like to introduce you to Lydia Vasys-Detring.
Hi Lydia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I have been in sales for 19+ years. In 2018, the Aesthetics industry was calling me! I was recruited to promote PDO Threads as an Independent Contractor (1099 rep). I left pharmaceutical sales and started my aesthetic journey as an independent contractor. I met several people in this industry when I promoted PDO threads and started to build my aesthetic offerings with different companies. Now I receive calls and offers, and I am very selective about what I want to promote to dermatologists, med spas, and plastic surgeons. I am a people person; I enjoy building relationships and am very passionate about what I promote!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s never a smooth road. Covid was a big challenge, and all of our PDO training completely stopped, offices closed, etc. One of my colleagues in San Diego, whom I speak with regularly, said, “you need to pick up a peel” because she was selling it strong through Covid. She recommended me to “The Perfect Derma” peel management team, and I began to promote it. It was a feather in my hat. The peel allowed me to open new doors, and I recently added a new PDO thread line, laser hair removal, fat removal, radio frequency, and an FUE hair restoration device! Skinuva Scar cream continues to do well with plastic surgeons.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an independent aesthetic distributor. I call on Med Spas, Dermatologists, Plastic Surgeons, Nurse Injectors, & Aestheticians. My goal is to help these providers achieve the best results for their customers with my product offerings. I strive to promote the best in its class! Being independent sets me apart from the other representatives in the field. No one is doing it for me if I’m not out there in the field promoting and making sales. I’m proud of my motivation, being a self-starter Type A personality. I am very passionate about my work, building relationships, and Radiant Results Aesthetics, LLC.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
As a mom of two boys, I like to set a good example for them and be a positive role model! My favorite books are: “Winning With People,” “Good To Great,” “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, and “Emotional Intelligence.” Exercising helps me be my best and to reset, and occasionally I enjoy the infrared sauna! Eating healthy and getting adequate sleep at night is important to me too.
