Rising Stars: Meet Revi Ferrer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Revi Ferrer.

Hi Revi, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I am a self-taught painter. I found my artistic calling early in my life among the museums and concert halls of Riga, Latvia, where I grew up. My parents, recognizing my talent, spared no time enrolling me in various art schools and design study programs. After finding my first position in the creative world at a prominent architectural firm in Riga, an unexpected change of life brought me to London’s fashion industry. My dive into the fashion pond was fortunate when I was hired by the high-end western boot company “Old Gringo Boots” and moved to California as an in-house boot designer. Some of the most famous people in America have worn designer boots, such as singer Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and Ke$ha. They’ve been seen on stage at the AMA and the Grand Ole Opry. They’ve also graced pages for magazines like Vogue, Marie Claire, etc. And designers like Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, and others. But fashion could hold me for only so long, and I found myself answering the call to buy a canvas and start painting. In no time, I developed my style and created linear paintings encompassing fashion, design, and architectural structure. Today paint is everywhere in my life.

After moving to Nashville, I focused on doing what I believe the universe has intended me to do: CREATE ART. I continue to investigate design with my paintbrush (I favored pencil over paint as a child, I thought paint was too messy and complicated to use). I also make an effort to participate in philanthropy through my art with select nonprofits and causes that are meaningful to me and align with my passions. One of the nonprofit organizations I have incredibly close connections with is the Nashville Wine Auction, which unites the wine community to help fund the fight against cancer. I was the featured Artist at the 2021 l’Eté du Vin flagship fundraiser, where my two original paintings were auctioned off for more than $26k. I make time to support the arts – cultural and culinary – as well as the wine community and cancer-fighting causes. I have donated my paintings and time to several nonprofit organizations, including the Nashville Opera Guild through its elegant La Bella Notte 2022; The Triangle Wine & Food Experience in North Carolina benefiting the Frankie Lemmon School & Development Center; as well as The Napa Salvation Army Culinary Training Academy. This was to support the culinary arts in this wine region ravaged by wildfires. My art allows me to support these causes and bring attention their way, which in turn helps them grow more vital than ever before!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life is full of challenges, but the rewards are worth it. I’ve been blessed with opportunities to explore and live in different countries, but it also comes at a price; learning new languages, adapting to new cultures, and meeting new people without looking back can seriously affect mental health. Sometimes it’s easy to fit in, but most of the time, it’s been a challenging journey for me – especially because I am an introvert. It made me quickly realize that I’m not meant to fit in. I am meant to enjoy the differences.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I paint iconic and luxurious items. Everything people want to spend a lot of money for. I love recreating other artists’ work; it could be in fashion design or winemaking, or iconic old cars, but it must have an air of luxury about them that is recognized worldwide as chic yet timeless. I’ve always been a massive fan of using metallics in my art. Metallics allow me to create beautiful paintings that look almost three-dimensional when finished. This luxurious touch resonates with me as an artist who strives for high-end aesthetics. I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of exclusivity. In a world where everything is available to everyone, it’s refreshing to find something that is produced in only 12 unique pieces per year. Each painting takes about four weeks to make and is uniquely commissioned or bought before completion. After the painting is completed, it is professionally photographed and followed up with Limited Edition Prints. Each Edition includes only 35-50 available pieces sold on my website www.ineffableart.com. It comes with a certificate containing a unique ID and is hand-signed, ready to hang. As we know, I also have a deep affection for fashion. My love of art is not limited to paintings. Today my taste shines through in my art-printed silk scarves and hand-painted collection of jackets which are also available on my website www.ineffableart.com.
