Conversations with Dee Aitch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dee Aitch.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am an Artist, Writer, Producer, Engineer, self-proclaimed “Motivativator”, all-around creative, and lifetime student from East Nashville, TN. Over the past 10 years, I’ve been an integral part of the cultivation, augmentation, and preservation of the ever-so-talented (yet majorly slept-on) Nashville Hip Hop scene.

6 years ago, I was creating music for myself and others in a trailer park on Dickerson Rd. Today, only by the grace of the highest, I boast a cult-like clientele of artists, writers, producers, and musicians that come to my quaint creative space in Midtown on Music Row to construct authentic expressions of art thru music.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey in music has been the complete opposite of smooth but that’s the best part. No success story is without obstacles so it should be expected. In the midst of the darkest times is where I’ve learned my most prized lessons.

It made me grateful for every opportunity because more often than not those opportunities are slim to none for hip-hop artists here in the so-called “Music City”. I could go on and on with issues or reasons but they would all just become excuses by the end. The struggles are just a part of a process that you have to trust if you want to be successful.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a musical creator that specializes in on-site VIBE propagation. I have an uncanny knack for being able to pull the best out of any artist that I’m recording. I am supremely confident in my own musical prowess whether in front of a mic, computer or crowd, but I believe my ability to connect with the artist I am producing from a subatomic level divulges that pure authenticity within them for the world to see. This is what sets me apart from everyone else.

The energy I bring to the table is powerful and unique so artists just make their best music with me and it’s borderline inexplicable.

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking.
Risk-taking is the name of the game. Not only in any career of choice but in life in general. Risks produce growth, they teach and are also a part of every success story along with struggles.

Without risks, there is no success. If success is a beautiful perfect little newborn baby, then the risk is the absent father. One of the biggest and sometimes first risk anyone can take is investing in themselves. Whether that investment is money, time, energy, etc.
