Inspiring Conversations with Samantha Pointer Foxx of Samantha Pointer Enterprises

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Pointer Foxx.

Hi Samantha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I got my start as an entrepreneur back in 1997. I was taking a break from college and was looking for something that I could do part-time to supplement my income. I always wanted to have my own business after reading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

One night I was searching online, way back when it was dial-up, and found a new profession called professional organizing. The lady’s site who I was on lived all the way in Texas. I couldn’t believe people would pay you to help them organize their homes. I was always an organized person so I thought this would be perfect. So I reached out and found out there was a national organization and so I contacted them and they sent me literature about how to get started. From there I found a group of local ladies who were already doing this as a profession and started going to their meetings. Within a month I was out organizing my first clients and bringing in extra income. In 2000 I was able to replace my income from my job and go full-time as my own boss.

I specialized in helping hoarders and chronically disorganized people for a very very long time before I had my kids. After I had my first child I changed my focus to organizing people’s digital clutter. After almost 20 years I was burnt out on physical decluttering.

Also during this time I went back to college and got my BS in Business/E-Business degree and started a web design business. So for the last few years of my professional organizing business, I was also running a second business as a web designer. This set me up to make a decision in 2009 of which way did I want to go as times were changing and by that time I was married with 2 kids. Because I love technology so much I decided to focus more on computer work and how I could help businesses use technology better to grow their business.

There were a few years of teaching in-person computer and tech classes as well as starting an online tech academy. I ended up shutting down my web design business and re-branding my organizing business to strictly automation in 2016/2017. After attending a conference I met my now mentor who showed me all about marketing automation and how with his proven system I could help businesses grow their revenue without burning their time and energy with manual stuff.

So that is really my journey to becoming a Certified Automation Service Provider™. I use my background as an organizing and web designer to help my clients to organize and automate their businesses.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There were times I wanted to quit, there were times when money was really tight. There were times when dealing with some of my clients had me wanting to pull my hair out.

But I knew deep down in my heart that God had put this special gift inside of me to help others through technology so I kept pressing on. Every time I get frustrated or stand on the proverbial ledge, I just dial up my business bestie and she helps me get back into the right mindset.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What really makes me happy is when I have alone time to think and read. I am an introvert so it is paramount that I get time to myself to just rest and recharge. I am my best self when I can just relax and recharge.
