Hi Ke’Airra, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
How did this all start? When I was 21, my mom took me to get my first wax. Yes, it hurt. I tried again with a friend and I literally quit during the service, When I got home I said there has to be a better way. I received all my supplies for waxing as a gift about a week after this. That’s when I decided to change the narrative on how waxing is done. Waxing doesn’t have to be so painful. Once I moved I transformed my living room into an esthetician space. I then started practicing my craft one lady at a time. I enrolled in school to take my services further. I added more services such as vajacials and skin treatments to my menu.

Now, I am the Owner of Reflections BeautiBar, LLC I began promoting myself on social media and my clients actually gave me the name; THE WAX LADY. I create a calm environment where people can relax. I love to see the smile and confidence once the service is complete. I’d say my specialty is the Brazilian wax Most of my clients who were scarred now come in with ease. Some days we laugh and talk other days we just jam to the music. I stand firmly on waxing does not have to be so painful. it doesn’t have to be extremely long you don’t have to hate it. You just need the right person with compassion and passion for what they are doing.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My goodness NO but I have overcome. I actually spent time in prison not once as an adult but twice. I was a very troubled teenager, not that I came from a bad family. More like I was very sheltered and the world got ahold of me, spending time in prison away from my son and family definitely changed me as a person. I vowed to never look back.

I like fast money and had to find a way to make money legally. After being kicked out with my son, I started bartending money was good yet there was no family time.

I remember applying for Western Express, not evening knowing how to email. I called for two weeks consistently and finally got my chance. After about a year there I found waxing and waxing found me. I continued to work at western express during the day and school at night balancing my clientele and motherhood all at the same time.

After opening my Beautibar in September 2020. I was able to quit my corporate job. Now I am the proud owner of two businesses, I remain humble and Resilient simply Honored that God would use me to be a vessel. I am living proof that anyone can change.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Wax Lady @ Reflections Beautibar. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am the wax lady at Reflections Beautibar. I personally offer any hair removal by waxing. I specialize in skin treatment services such as the Vajacial. What is a Vajacial? It’s exactly what it sounds like a facial for your most intimate areas. Helps with hypopigmentation, ingrown hairs, hydration, and more. This service includes a small meditation. This service will definitely make you feel renewed I do offer these services to both genders. I offer training classes to help others perfect their crafts as well.

It gets even better I’m just the one doing the waxing But reflections Beautibar is a one-stop shop. We focus on the beauty on the outside as well as inside. What was your favorite childhood memory?
I have so many amazing memories but I would have to go with the time I asked my mom for a specific pair of shoes.

The new ace 83’s. they were silver and white. The first day I got the shoes My aunt took us downtown. I saw a homeless lady with sandals on it was so cold. I went over and asked her what size she wear she said the size I was wearing, I took my shoes off and gave them to her. When I got home a few days later mom asked about the shoes and I told her what happened. I could tell mom was upset and proud at the same time, this is my favorite because although that was 20 years ago my heart has never changed. I’ve always had a very big heart, trying to help, and giving that smile so that someone can cheer me up. I find so much joy in helping others it’s just naturally who I am.
