Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda McCroskey.
Hi Amanda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve worked in human resources for over 17 years within many different industries including retail, non-profit, construction, and supply chain. Over the course of my career, I found my greatest passion was in coaching others regarding their career. It’s exciting for me to see individuals experience their “aha” moment and begin to take the steps toward fulfilling and purposeful work.
So in 2020, I launched my own career coaching practice called Hope Provides geared toward equipping, empowering, and encouraging individuals on their career journey. Hope provides the space for clients to explore the possibilities and imagine what their careers could look like. Hope provides the opportunity to discover ways for the work they do to align well with their personal core values and to feel confident in their talent.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Launching and managing your own business can be challenging, but I wouldn’t trade a second of it because of everything I learned. From the legalities to accounting, marketing to certifications, there are so many moving pieces to owning your own coaching practice. I’ve had to learn to be incredibly organized and use my calendar religiously to keep me on point when it comes to reminders of due dates for financials, social media networking, client sessions, and training.
The other challenge was figuring out how to stand out and be noticed amongst a sea of coaches all with varied backgrounds. For me, I chose to mainly focus on career coaching; leveraging my HR background. Regarding my messaging, I just keep it simple and to the point in how I present my services. I also love to write and make sure that I am producing as much content as I can from social media posts to blogs on my website.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Hope Provides LLC?
I operate my own Career Coaching business focused on accompanying individuals on a journey toward self-discovery and realization of the talent they possess and how that translates into a job or career that meets their needs in a satisfactory way. I provide hope and the space needed for individuals to explore and understand their worth and the value they possess. I know it’s easy to forget this sometimes as life events and difficult work experiences can infiltrate the way we see and view our world and more specifically ourselves.
Hope Provides is a resource offering job search strategies, resume writing, and skills assessment but most importantly, it’s a place to be heard and seen. There is no judgment, just listening. I want to be a place where individuals can be themselves and speak freely about their challenges, hang-ups, fears, and dreams. And then from there, together walk the road toward change, being strategic and intentional.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
My favorite childhood memory was training to be an English rider on American Saddlebreds when I was 12. This required tremendous amounts of discipline in maintaining the right posture, posting, and how to hold the reins in order to ensure a smooth ride. There were times I was thrown off or lost my grip on the reins but I kept going. I was determined to learn how to ride and do it well.
