Hidden Gems: Meet Nicholas Tarola of Tarola Plastic Surgery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Tarola.

Hi Nicholas, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Since a very young age, I always had a strong interest in medicine and surgery. While in high school and college, I worked as a hospital volunteer and a researcher at which time I was fortunate enough to spend time with surgeons of all specialties. My fascination with plastic surgery quickly became evident and strengthen my desire to pursue medical school.

After completing medical school and general surgery residency in Philadelphia, my family and I moved to Nashville Tennessee where he completed a plastic surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University. I have been in solo private practice in the middle Tennessee area since graduating from Vanderbilt. My practice focuses on cosmetic surgery of the breast, body, and face with a special interest in restorative breast surgery following breast implant removal.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would argue that the road is not smooth for any physician just starting out practice, especially for a surgeon starting his or her own practice with a young family far from home.

The process of establishing oneself and gaining the trust of patients and referring physicians is slow. I have always tried to do what is right for my patients and provide them with the best result possible.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My practice focuses on cosmetic surgery of the breast, body, and face with a special focus on breast implant removal and restorative breast surgery following implant removal. I make a conscious effort to listen to my patients and hear their goals and desires. I then try to ensure that my patients are well-educated and comfortable with the treatment decisions being made.

My staff and I go to great lengths to make the treatment process as seamless as possible from beginning to end. We also offer a full complement of aesthetic nonsurgical services including neuromodulator and filler injections, laser treatments, nonsurgical fat removal, facials, and skincare lines.
