Hi Flav and Concetta; we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hey, welcome to our journey! Our names are Concetta and Flav, and we are Coasting Paradise! We are a couple that got together 6+ years ago during our University days and quickly discovered one another’s love for traveling. We immediately started squeezing in as many trips as possible around our school schedules. We traveled to Mexico, Amsterdam, and Italy, all within the first couple of years of being together, and continued to visit many exciting places. The idea to start our travel page began during the pandemic, and Coasting Paradise was born in the summer of 2022. While traveling, we are still pursuing our careers; Flav is an investment professional, while Concetta is an Educator. We aim to travel most of the year and work on Coasting Paradise. This year, we plan to travel to the Caribbean, parts of Canada, the United States, and Europe, So follow us on our growth journey and stay tuned for some excellent content! Coasting Paradise is very excited to share our upcoming travel adventures with everyone with our unique spin.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
While we greatly enjoy building the Coasting Paradise brand, it has sometimes been challenging. Aside from both of us having very demanding Jobs, the pandemic has made it challenging to get started. If it were a smooth, easy road, everyone would be on it.
We planned to start in 2020, but travel restrictions were a huge barrier. In one instance, we had a planned trip that was canceled and rescheduled a total of 4 times due to changing restrictions, along with 3 other canceled trips. Eventually, traveling would be possible again, but there were many different rules and regulations for different countries, which was another challenge we had to navigate. We understand the need for it, given the pandemic, but the uncertainty made it difficult to plan trips and related content. In addition, balancing busy schedules while making time for ourselves has been challenging. As we grow, we continue to optimize our time and follow a productive schedule as best we can!
To add, traveling is no small expense! However, we would not want it any other way! Despite the challenges, putting content together and sharing it with our followers has been one of the most fulfilling experiences we have ever had. We are always planning our next trip and how to engage more with followers to help them feel as if they’re beside us on our journeys.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in content creation and photography. Concetta has studied photography in school and also used to model, resulting in being comfortable both in front and behind the camera. Flav has previously worked as a video editor for a media company, and we find great joy in delivering our content.
We are proud of the moments and experiences we’ve captured through photography and film and are very excited to share them with you. We aim to not always travel to the most well-known tourist areas and instead look for the “beaten path” gems in every one of our adventures to showcase what our destinations offer. Keep your eye out for different experiences that we are excited to share.
What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Undoubtedly, the digital content and travel community are constantly changing. As we’ve seen in the past couple of years during the pandemic, we have moved toward shorter, more easily digestible content. We expect this trend to continue as more and more content viewers flock to platforms such as TikTok, and both Instagram Reels and Youtube Shorts have surged in popularity.
One way that we see a huge shift in the way people engage with content is with the developing virtual reality platform. While the outlook could be clearer, we hope followers can eventually throw on a pair of VR goggles and travel alongside us. Exactly how this will happen remains to be seen, and we are very excited!
Within 5-10 years, we’re hoping travel will also change – faster trains, planes, and cars along with easier ways to hop around the globe making travel more accessible and time efficient – leaving room for much more content in a shorter period. So exciting!
