Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Alliston.

Hi Sarah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a California native and a few years back, my husband and I made the decision to move to the beautiful state of Tennessee for a better life for our two children. I have 12 years of experience in the Insurance Industry, beginning in claims and adjusting to now owning my own Farmers Insurance Agency in the heart of Brentwood. I love what I do and not too many people can say that. It’s fulfilling in so many ways to see how often you can really help someone just by simply explaining their insurance and that makes coming to work, for me, enjoyable.

When I’m not working in the office, I’m taking my 10-year-old daughter to cheerleading and my 7-year-old son to baseball. My husband and I live in Arrington in what we consider ours forever home. I love to serve the local communities and am so proud to be a resident of this amazing place we call home.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Is it ever a smooth road? haha. Starting a new business from the ground up will always have its struggles. When starting this agency, I didn’t purchase a book of business. I started my agency on my own and every customer I work with has been someone I have personally reached out to.

It has not always been easy but again, I love what I do so much and I knew that the payout would be far greater than the challenges. And when I say payout, I don’t mean monetarily. I am referring to achieving goals and becoming a working mom that is a business owner. I’ll leave this legacy for my children one day and that is the greatest payout there is.

As you know, we’re big fans of Alliston Agency. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a Farmers Insurance Agency located in Brentwood, selling everything insurance, (excluding health). We primarily specialize in auto, home, life, and commercial. However, we welcome all types of insurance needs from boat owners to rental homes/Airbnb landlords to tractors! You name it, we cover it. I have a team of three, which includes my sales manager Nicole Saporito, agent Brie Laniewski and my social media coordinator Joelle Terri. We LOVE what we do and I don’t just say that.

Our agency is known for the energy we bring and our customers appreciate it! We love offering insight to our customers! They leave here fully understanding what they are buying, what they don’t need to buy, and what is the most important to buy. I wanted to grow a team of hard-working moms. Moms are the best at multitasking and being attentive… not to say dads aren’t. But, we moms know how valuable time and family are and that’s the kind of team I wanted to build.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Sounds cliché but genuine and honest.

It’s afforded me the opportunity to build trust with my customers and create long-standing relationships. In my previous business, I had customers from over 20 years ago that are my friends to this day. Any customer that walks into my office will be treated like we have known each other for years. It’s not cold and stuffy. We keep it fresh and alive in here!
