Check Out The Band Light’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to The Band Light. Them and their team share their story with us below:

We met all met in High School through our Theatre program. When our production of ‘Footloose’ The Musical was canceled due to covid in the Spring of 2020, we decided to produce our own original version of the soundtrack as a way to let the show live on.

After that, we decided to start working on our own original music. We didn’t start seriously pursuing ventures as a band until May of 2021 when Garrett insisted we audition his drummer friend (Trevor), as we were in need of a drummer. All it took was him playing one song for us to come to a mutual agreement that he was. Thus THE BAND LIGHT was officially formed. Since then we have been forming our sound, and playing local shows in the greater Nashville area.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
So far, the road has been mostly smooth. We are all best friends before anything so we usually don’t let silly problems get in the way of our work with the band. We do have spurts of times where I am more productive than others, but we have not had any major bumps in the road.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a “Rock n’ Roll Boy Band’ as we like to say.

We bring elements of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, rock and roll when it comes to our sound, and aesthetic while also incorporating a boy band type of feel to our live performances. One thing we all have in common within the band is our love for early rock bands, and those are something that the music landscape today is missing. We are making it our mission to be a part of changing that.

What matters most to you?
What truly matters to us is legacy. We find that it is the legacies of legends like Eddie Van Halen, Elvis Presley, and Paul McCartney to name a few, that have inspired us to make art, and make us who we are. All that matters to us is trying to be that for others.
