Community Highlights: Meet Brihanna Tant of Boozy With Bri

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brihanna Tant.

Hi Brihanna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started bartending about 8 years ago, I worked for a restaurant and did LOTS of catering and at the events we had, I started bartending at them. I quickly fell in love with everything that had to do with events. I loved working under the pressure and stress that came with them. I love meeting new people and talking with everyone. and just being busy! I started working weddings for friends of friends and continued to do that for years.

I have always been the type that had NO IDEA what she wanted to do with her life. I felt like I enjoyed a lot of things, and was good at them, but I would get bored quickly or miss being around new people all the time (thank you ADHD) I was in school in 2021 for Surgical Technology and I broke my ankle that September. I was out for a little bit and had to play catch-up when I returned. At the end of the semester, I didn’t pass one class by a .3 point. So that was it, I was out. I was DEVASTATED. This was something I was actually really good at, and was excited about.

At the end of January, I had just worked another wedding, and this was one of the best weddings I had been to. I came home and talked to my partner and was just thinking “You know, maybe this is a sign. Maybe I wasn’t supposed to go that medical career route. Maybe I am supposed to start my own business and go full speed at this and do events.” So I did just that.

The first week of February I got my LLC, set up my Facebook page, posted in wedding groups, and started getting bookings QUICK! I was not expecting it to blow up that quickly, but so thankful it did. I had to hire my best friend to start working for me because there were so many people reaching out about the same dates, and now I have a team of 5 other women!!

I am celebrating my one year this week (Feb.4) and am so excited to branch out and start offering more things for events. I have started to dip my toe into coordinating, and also have some rental pieces. I hope to get into the planning world eventually. My ultimate dream is to one day open my own venue.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I do event bartending!! Any type of events- weddings, showers, private parties, corporate events, and I want to maybe host a couple of ‘craft cocktail’ events this year! I have set up self-serve bars also! Mimosa bar, with 4 different juices and fruit to garnish with! And margarita bars, with 2 different flavors of sangria!

When I started looking into other local bartending companies to set prices, I quickly found out that anything to do with weddings, or events are EXPENSIVE!!!! I get it, but I also wanted it to be more affordable. I don’t like the idea of slapping the word ‘wedding’ on something and raising it by $500. This is something I love doing. Don’t get me wrong, I love making money too, but me being me, I couldn’t charge someone crazy numbers.

I am a woman part of the LGBTQ+ community, owned a business, and have an all-woman team. This is something that will never change. I am proud that I am able to tell people that! We need more woman-owned businesses around here! Another thing I do, if I have events that I am supply mixes for – I hand squeeze all of my fruit. It takes a long time, but the taste is 150% better, so it’s worth it.
