Today we’d like to introduce you to Allisah Kalen.
Hi Allisah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Ever since I was little I was fascinated by the modeling industry, and once I entered college I began to pursue modeling as a career. However, being based out of a small town in the south, led to many bumps in the road. After wading through scam after terrifying scam, looking to either rob me of every dime or far worse, But no fear, I finally found my way in this crazy world we call the entertainment industry. The nonsense did not stop there though, I quickly learned that this truly is a cutthroat profession, and it is important to have the right people by your side. Fast forward a bit and as more and more aspiring creatives reached out to me for advice, I realized I could do more to help – thus The V MGMT Group was born.
Now nestled in the heart of Historic Downtown Opelika, V MGMT is a full-service model and creative agency that specializes in branding and development. Even though we started December 2019, only a few months before a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic, we already have many notable clients under our belt – including Neutrogena, the artist Future, and Ole Smoky Moonshine to name a few – proving that if we can make it through a pandemic, we can make it through anything!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As is typically the case with chasing your dreams, there have definitely been struggles involved. For starters, the previously mentioned pandemic isolated us all and closed down much of the world, including the modeling industry.
We pulled through though, and are proud to have still helped many models reach new heights, even during such a difficult time. There are also numerous other obstacles that come alongside running your own business, but that is a whole other conversation we could have.
We’ve been impressed with The V MGMT Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The V MGMT Group is a full-service creative agency that specializes in branding and the development of models, creatives, and brands alike. Our motto is “the one-stop creative shop” as we are able to provide as little or as much as anyone could dream of to fill their creative needs. We love and take pride in the work that we do, and believe that brand image and quality are a top priority.
Our favorite feedback we often receive, even just from viewing our Instagram (@vmodelsandtalent), is that it is obvious we care about our talent and put in the work necessary to help them reach their goals. We offer portfolio packages for both aspiring and experienced models, actors, and the like.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
As far as apps go – Mojo, Dizzi App, Plann, and Adobe Rush are my go-to’s for editing and making my life easier.
“#Girlboss” by Sophia Amoruso and “Think and Grow Rich” by Napolean Hill are amazing books for all my boss babes out there!
When it comes to podcasts I am a sucker for a good true horror story while getting some work done – my go-to’s are “Let’s Not Meet” and “Unexplained Encounters”; and when Lola Chel releases more of “The Model Made Podcast” you’ll catch me binging those for a look at the industry from another’s point of view.
