Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Gaines.
Hi Timothy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The story of Kingdom’s Love Ministries (KLM) is a story of how God completely turned a picture of pain, hurt, and disappointment into a portrait of victory and deliverance. For seven years, I was the proud pastor of a local congregation within the city of Franklin Tennessee. And, although I loved pastoring this particular congregation (and hated to leave), at the same time I now realize my destiny and future were never aligned with this particular place of worship, but instead it was predestined for me to start a Church within the great city of Franklin which I believe will continue to become a beacon of hope, spiritual growth, and love for all walks of life.
KLM became an idea from God during the fall of 2021, as our initial launch team would meet weekly for the purpose of planning and prayer. However, KLM became a blessed reality on January 30th, 2022. Since then God has increased us in membership and MANY other different areas relating to the ministry. And today we remain totally focused and committed concerning our motto, which is to be a church that meets God’s disenfranchised and ostracized people exactly where they are. Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them that are called according to God’s purpose.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With ANYTHING worth having or achieving you can EXPECT struggles along the way.
As it relates to KLM, our main struggles came from simply trying to establish our DNA; discovering what works and what doesn’t work; doing our best to practice being consistent, and learning from our mistakes. Also, there were people that started with us that are no longer there. But throughout it all, KLM has one major thing going for us which is, God IS for us. (Romans 8:31).
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I accepted my calling into the ministry of preaching in the year 2006 and was ordained on October 7, 2007, by my pastor and mentor Herbert Brown at Greater St John Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville Tennessee. I received a bachelor of science degree in biblical and theological studies from the prestigious American Baptist College in Nashville in May of 2012.
I am likewise an accomplished singer and musician. However, of all the things God has allowed me to accomplish in ministry, I am most proud of the fact that I am a proud husband to my wife Maria (33 years), as well as a father to my 3 wonderful children (Stephanie, Stacie, and Tim Jr) and 9 adorable grandchildren.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
There are several apps that I use on a daily while preparing for sermons or Bible studies.
The two that stand out the most are an app called Accordance and Logos. I am an avid reader. And although I enjoy reading the Bible and spiritual literature, however, I really enjoy reading autobiographies concerning famous people.
