Today we’d like to introduce you to Chuck Tate. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Chuck Tate is the award-winning author of 41 Will Come (Tyndale Momentum) and the founder and lead pastor of RockChurch, a thriving congregation in the heart of Illinois. Prior to planting RockChurch in 1998, Chuck worked for a national youth ministry in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In that role, he managed and spoke at conventions across the United States and Canada, and co-produced a national television program that aired on Trinity Broadcasting Network. Chuck is the cohost of a new weekly podcast called Revival Town Podcast. Revival Town Podcast was featured in The Christian Post as one of the best 8 Christian podcasts to listen to in 2022. Chuck has been a guest contributor for CharismaMag.com, North Central University Magazine, and ThinkEternity.org. He has also been featured on the international television show 100 Huntley Street and multiple national radio shows and podcasts, including In The Market With Janet Parshall (Moody Radio).
Chuck hands out a heaping of hope daily on TikTok to his more than 89,000 followers.
Chuck and his wife, Annette, are the parents of Savannah (18) and Ashton (15).
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Pastoring the same church for 24+ years has presented lots of challenges and obstacles, but the greatest challenge I have faced is navigating the 4-year health journey my wife has been on and continuing to pastor while also being her caregiver.
She went from being relatively healthy to be diagnosed with a debilitating pain disease that led her to seek treatment in Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, and Arizona. She ended up having to use a walker to walk, was on bed rest for several months, and had to sleep in our living room in a rented hospital bed for 17 months. The good news is she has made extensive progress after her latest two surges and has ditched the walker and hospital bed.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am the founding pastor of a church in central Illinois that I founded almost 25 years ago. I am also a writer and host of a successful podcast.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Leader, creative, writer, hope bringer, storyteller.
