Daily Inspiration: Meet Moss Da Beast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Moss Da Beast.

Hi Moss, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I got to where I am today from my love for music and staying a student. I began writing as a child and always wanted to work with my cousins who lived out of town. Eventually, we grew up and moved to the same place and worked on our first album with producer Honorable C Note.

Once the album was out we received much success which allowed us to move to the south from the Midwest. Once in Nashville, my grind leads me to manage the group as well as multi-platinum producers. While managing I also started my solo career which has led me to open many doors for myself and others.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely has not been all smooth. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. Sometimes harder it is to make it. The more you appreciate it. My struggles like many others came from a lack of money. Not enough opportunities to make a real living off of music.

I also have seen struggles in my relationships with significant others and less time around my children. This music grind definitely takes you away from those you love in order to take care of them. The irony of it all is something I have struggled with.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What I do is I am a master of all ceremonies. I write songs and video treatments, host events, ghostwrite for other artists, I manage other artists, and bring their visions to light. Most of all I network. I’m proud of my ability to go to new places and stand out enough for opportunities to land in my lap. What sets me apart from the crowd is my talent matches my hunger for success.

When I’m awarded opportunities that most would be nervous about, I tend to dive in. I love to be in the middle of my work realizing how much of an impact it will make on other people’s lives. I’m mostly known for discovering successful producers and for my own music with other gold and platinum producers.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
The 1 thing that surprises most people about me is that I almost made it to the major leagues as a baseball player. I was scouted by the Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals.
