Community Highlights: Meet Luke Stetson of Luke’s Garage Gym

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luke Stetson.

Luke, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been working out and into fitness for 17 years, and I am now at the fine age of 30 years old. Lifting weights has always been a huge passion and stress relief for me, so it is always been a part of my weekly routine. Now, when it comes to my social media presence, it started in high school when we did funny YouTube videos for our family and friends. Content creation has always been something I enjoy, but I never really knew where to keep that passion going after high school. This is where the Covid-19 pandemic came into play.

I wasn’t working out because the gyms were closed, and all I had was some bands and an old barbell, and weights from a friend. I just knew this was not enough, and I started watching videos on home gyms, and I thought why can’t I just do this? This is where the journey began for Luke’s Garage Gym. I bought some Powerblocks and equipment from Titan Fitness. My buddies kept hounding me saying that I should make content in my home gym, and I was reluctant to do it.

But, one day, I decided to do a gym tour of my garage gym, and that is when I started my Instagram and YouTube channels. Since April of 2021, I have been so passionate about making home gym reviews, tips, and tricks on Luke’s Garage Gym, and I cannot wait to keep this passion going!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being a content creator is never easy. From the hours of editing to filming, it takes a toll on you. It really is a full-time job on top of a full-time job you already have, in which my case I am an educator. Having the breaks off gives me more time to make garage gym reviews, but, it can be frustrating.

What I mean is the algorithm and views. At first, I was not too concerned about the high subscriber count or views, but now, with the brands sending you products to review, you have a lot of pressure to come through and give traffic to their brand. But, I am confident that I am givng my audience quality content that can benefit everyone for the videos I create.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Luke’s Garage Gym?
Luke’s Garage Gym is my own brand where I specialize in working with equipment companies to review their products with my audience. I provide positive and in-depth reviews of equipment to help my audience know if it something that they could get in their home gym! I think what sets me apart is my charisma and passion for fitness and helping others. As an educator, I always want to look out for others and help others in succeeding, and in this case, it is to become healthy and successful in the fitness realm in their home gym.

As a brand, I am proud when I see my audience buying things based on my recommendations, through either my affiliate links or other ways. Also, when I see brands using my videos as sponsored videos, then it shows that my hard work and dedication are paying off. What makes you happy?
Seeing my goals being met and seeing others succeed based on my recommendations is really what drives me to keep going.
