Hi Dan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I have been working as an employee of Junk Remedy in Illinois for five years for my cousin Nick DeGiulio.
Throughout my years there and under the mentorship of Nick I was able to learn the ins and outs of how to operate a successful junk removal company. After about my third year working, I realized how much I truly love this job and how we make people’s lives easier and junk free. Since that third year, I have always considered opening another branch of Junk Remedy in the great state of Tennessee, however, I sat on this idea for two more years to finish out my college education at Western Kentucky University.
I approached my cousin with the idea and we both fell in love with it. I spent my senior year of college nailing down the who, what, where, and when for how I would be able to keep Junk Remedy in the family name and create a name for myself in Nashville hauling junk. I opened Junk Remedy in January of 2023 and have been working every day to better myself and the business in hopes of helping the communities of Tennessee. Once my first job was booked my eyes lit with hope and I knew after all these years, my work has paid off and I am doing this!
Having a family member as a mentor and leader, assisted me in the start-up and learning the “how to” before I started. Doing what I love and knowing I am making a difference in people’s lives has changed my mindset in this world which has created a positive result on my business as well as my life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owning a small business has its ups and downs, but if you are truly giving 110% every day you will make it work. With competitor junk removal companies it has been a bit difficult trying to get my name out there. I have been hitting the streets every day pitching my business and marketing myself to potential customers so they to see why hiring Junk Remedy is the best choice.
I have always lived a very scheduled life, I like to plan my weeks out in entirety and I am learning that being a small business owner your schedule can change at the end of a two-minute phone call. I love what I do and am accepting of certain issues that arise, however, I get up and learn from my mistakes to make Junk Remedy the best junk removal company in Nashville.

Junk Remedy is a family-owned and operated company that works with residential and commercial properties, we provide free estimates, and a family-friendly/uniformed staff. We can provide junk removal services that include, estate clean-outs, construction debris removal, single item pick-ups, foreclosure and tenant cleanouts, appliance and furniture removal, and professional same-day service. We specialize in the removal of items that the customer points out to us to be removed.
We try our best to make our clients’ lives easier and clutter-free by having them point out what they want going than having them sit back, relax, and watch their junk disappear. Junk Remedy is known for having a polite and efficient staff who is always going above and beyond. We strive to make our clients satisfied and even clean up and sweep when they are completed with the job. I am most proud of our work ethic, without a strong work ethic or only giving half effort you will never succeed in life.
I and my employees show up to jobs early with big smiles and the attitude that it is ready to get to work. The passion for myself and my crew for this job is immeasurable.
