Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan and Robert Rees. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Prydeshare evolved from our professional experience and our passion for animals and animal welfare. Robert has a wealth of experience in transportation and hospitality management. He thrives in customer-facing situations and offers top-quality services to his clientele.

Megan has a long-standing career in corporate retail, but her heart belongs to animals. She has volunteered with numerous shelters and rescues, is a foster parent to dogs and cats alike, and believes in giving back to the animal community. Together, we saw Prydeshare as a solution to add convenience to help busy pet lovers’ everyday lives.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
How much time do you have? Seriously, though, starting this business was daunting, exciting, and stressful; enter any other adjective associated with the unknown! We leaned on each other a lot and would take advice or guidance from anyone offering it. In the end, marketing was our biggest obstacle.

Laying out a plan, partnering with the right people, sticking to a budget, and being patient were all learning curves we weren’t familiar with. We had to reassure ourselves that we could do this, and that Nashville would benefit from this service. The bottom line is that we couldn’t do it all on our own.  We had a community of supporters giving us the confidence to keep building towards our dream.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Prydeshare?
Prydeshare is a rideshare for pets, plain and simple. During COVID, adoption rates skyrocketed because people were staying home more, traveling less, and working in a hybrid environment.

The pet community was thriving with constant attention and companionship. When restrictions were lifted, more and more Americans had to go back to the office, which was not ideal for our furry friends, who had gotten so accustomed to having consistent care.

This transportation service ensures that your pets maintain the same happy and healthy lifestyle they are used to. It is an owner-free solution to get animals to their vet visits, doggy daycare, boarding, grooming appointments, etc. For the ultimate convenience, we offer an owner-free in-home pickup and drop off.

If you are stuck at the office, your flight is delayed, or plans have changed, we can access entry to your home per the owner’s request. Most importantly, we want our customers to know that their furry family members are in safe and loving hands while in our care.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
We can’t do it alone. It has taken immense support and guidance to get our business up and running. When we would doubt ourselves, it was the belief others had in us that kept up going.
