Check Out Kristina McClendon’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina McClendon.

Kristina McClendon

Hi Kristina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I got started in Photography eight years ago, a year after my Dad was killed. There had been many gaps, in years, where we didn’t have pictures together; where those memories suddenly felt lost. I had always liked taking pictures growing up, and always had a film or digital camera everywhere I went to capture the scenery.

So, after experiencing loss, I realized this was truly my passion, creating and capturing timeless memories for people to be able to hold onto. I enjoy capturing weddings, couples, families, and milestone sessions for little ones; this is where I have derived the name “Capturing Love Photography.”

I have also branched out and started offering Real Estate Photography under another name, “A Shot Above.”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The main challenges I have faced as a Photographer have been, moving and restarting my business in a completely new state, finding new clientele, and getting booked sessions.

I have operated my business in three different states now. I have not stayed as busy as I’d have liked to over the years, but I have still never put it down or given it up and am still just as excited and passionate for every session I have.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in Weddings and Maternity. My style is a moody film look, I like to add drama. I am most proud of my most recent maternity session.

What sets me apart is I like to get to know my clients, have fun with them, and let them let loose, I like to guide them into poses, but also just capture their raw moments. One example is, during a family session I like to have them all hold hands and walk side by side across a field, and skip and just be silly and laugh.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see there becoming a larger trend of artificial intelligence being used in editing to add in things, as well as even change the scenery.

Pricing:

  • $200 an hour for Weddings
  • $175 for an hour Portrait session
