Meet Macey Corder of Society 615

Today we’d like to introduce you to Macey Corder.

Hi Macey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in a small town in Tennessee, Fayetteville, TN. I moved to Murfreesboro in 2019 for college and graduated in 2021 with my bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a minor in Business Administration. I had a passion for social media marketing and digital marketing, so I knew I wanted to strive for a career in that field.

I was blessed to get an internship at a local digital marketing agency and was offered a full-time position with their agency, as a Digital Marketing Assistant, a month before I graduated college. I quickly worked my way up in the industry and within the agency, to soon be promoted as Social Media Manager, running their social media department. I won our agency Best Social Media in Murfreesboro just in my first year of working there. I grew so much that we extended our social media department and I got to manage a team. Then, I was promoted to Creative Director of the agency, continuing to lead the social media team and work in the overall branding of the company.

Recently, I moved back home and I found that there was a need in my small town and surrounding areas, for a social media and branding agency, that could help guide our local small businesses in elevating their online presence and spreading cohesive brand awareness in the community. I decided it was time to elevate my career and take the leap of faith to open my very own social media and branding agency, The Ville Social Studio. I am so excited to grow my agency and connect with small business owners, to bring my experience in this area, and for all of the new opportunities this growth will bring me.

I also own Society 615. We are a local influencer agency that works to connect LOCAL brands with LOCAL voices, through influencer marketing. Me and my business partners found that there wasn’t an agency like this, especially not in the area, that doesn’t just manage influencers, but that focuses on bringing influencer marketing to a local level. We officially launched in May 2023, have grown our list of local content creators to about 80 currently, and have already begun taking on local business clients to partner with. Super excited to bring this opportunity to our amazing state of Tennessee.

I am truly blessed to be where I am today, and so appreciative and honored for every small business I get to collaborate with. My family and friends are my biggest cheerleaders, and without their support and my faith in God, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I want to pour love into every single person I encounter and make them feel like they are a better person around me. I love that my career has allowed me to create such beautiful friendships with people in the same industry as me and all other types of industries, where we may have never met other than social media.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With the industry I’m in, it can always be a rollercoaster. It’s always changing and so a big obstacle for me has been learning to be more adaptable and continuing to learn every day. Another huge one for me is growing to stand up for myself more. I used to let so many people run me over and take advantage of me and my work ethic.

It’s something I am always going to be working on, but especially since I am now working for myself and owning my own business, it’s so important to value your time and your work. You will attract the right clients when you are putting out good and honest work, and you put your heart into everything you do. Anyone who doesn’t value that work ethic isn’t meant for you.

We’ve been impressed with Society 615, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Society 615 is a local influencer agency serving Middle TN. We work to connect your local brand with local voices, through influencer marketing. We currently have a growing list of over 80 local content creators. We work as the middle man to connect your brand with our list of local content creators that make sense partner with your brand, have real relationships with their audiences, and are all eager to work with the community local businesses here in Tennessee.

Most influencer agencies focus on the talent management side of things, but what sets us apart is the role that we play in local business influencer marketing. We try to eliminate as much of the middleman work from the local business owner when it comes to sourcing the right content creators and also managing the campaign for success.

I think I am the most proud so far of our brand since launching in May of this year, is just the overall sense of community we have been able to offer our content creators. Helping them find other women in the area who have the same passions as they do, who may be stay-at-home moms, beginning motherhood, in the same stages of life, etc. It’s been so amazing to see how supportive everyone has been and how they cheer each other on.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was very imaginative. Everything was like an imaginary play for me. If I was cleaning my room, I was playing clothing store. If my mom was cooking dinner, I was playing restaurant. If my teacher was throwing away school supplies, I was taking them home to play school with. I think that helped shape me into the creative I am today. I’m able to foster ideas and campaigns from things that others may not even know where to begin.

I grew up playing sports my whole life, Basketball and Volleyball. It made me super competitive, but also very determined that when I put my mind to something, and I work hard towards it, I can achieve it. I will forever be grateful for the experiences and life lessons that playing sports taught me.
