Conversations with Kendall Jenkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendall Jenkins.

Hi Kendall, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I go by the stage name Kamp Kens I’m from Nashville, Tennessee. I’ve been doing music for 10 years. I grew up in Sam Levy homes where my childhood was ruff.

I got in a lot of trouble which lead to me doing 3 years incarceration for robbery. I first started rapping in 2012 when I came home from my brother’s Nashville artists Yung Woo and Bookie were already recording music and told me I should try it and since then, I’ve found a love in the art. In 2016, I dropped my 1st mixtape “Road 2 Riches” hosted by Tay Keith.

Then, I was in a group called Greedy Gang with Abk Gatez Greedymoney Wontae Stunna, and Savage. We all went the solo route then I linked up with artist bossman bud and Marley the don and as a collective pushed mobbing heavy being greedy. In 2018, I and Cashville artist SS Lil Goldie start working together and end up linking with Young Buck where I learned a lot about the music business. In 2021, I had to turn myself into federal prison for a gun case I pled guilty to I was sentenced to 31 months in prison.

Before I left in 2020, I releases my Ep “Road 2 Riches”. While I’m the halfway house in 2022, I released “Until They Free Me” and my single “Celebration”.Currently, I’m in school for audio engineering and business entertainment and working on my next project “Still Kept It Solid”.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been a bumpy road from jail time to death it kind of slows down your process.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a hip-hop artist I’m known as Kamp Kens I’m proud that I was talented enough to gain the attention of Young Buck and learn from him. What sets me apart is I have my unique sound there is only 1 Kamp Kens.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I like the fact that we are growing and the opportunities that are coming. I can’t stand the traffic, lol.
