Check Out Melody Trivisone’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melody Trivisone.

Melody Trivisone

Hi Melody, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Based in Nashville, TN. My work as an artist started when I was old enough to hold a crayon. My head was always in the clouds, (excuse the pun). My mind works overtime and I see things around me that most people miss. It can be exhausting, but I’ve learned to glean the benefits of creativity and wonder.

Forced to do “other things” throughout the first years of life, my career as an artist took foot a little later. When I turned 50, my husband and I both had career challenges and found ourselves in a place where we could revisit our lifestyle and make changes. This is when I decided to explore and took up the “crayon” once more. I am a mostly self-taught artist. I have experimented with many mediums only to realize that oils and pen and ink are my muse.

I’m told that my cloudscapes evoke wonder and curiosity. It’s extremely rewarding to hear a patron imagine their own story from one of my pieces. My drawings are another avenue where I can express my respect for the life cycle of nature, from birth transitioning to decay.

I live with the colors that you see in my work. I decorate my home with them, dress in them, and create with them. They are “Old Soul” colors. Classic, mysterious, and tactile. My work has been collected internationally, has been curated by Art consultants for Corporate projects, often commissioned to create work for private collections.

I have had the honor of being published in Art Collector Magazine, Atlanta Home and Lifestyles, Southern Living, and other periodicals. I also participate in the highly anticipated HARDING ART SHOW, a prestigious fundraiser in Nashville, TN.

My dream for you is that by studying my works, you will also discover wonder and curiosity.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not always been smooth, but I don’t believe in the Starving Artist syndrome. If you are constantly active, moving and creating, making contacts, and manifesting your vision, your dreams can come to fruition.

It’s been particularly difficult working a full-time job as I have built my Art Career. But that season in my life is slowly becoming something that I can honestly feel good about resigning from. My ART and all of the things that come with it are more than enough to fulfill this rearranged lifestyle.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create cloudscapes and landscapes, drawings, and art based on nature. The colors I use are authentic to what is around us. My paintings are ethereal. When the participant looks through the layers in my clouds, they often tell me it brings them peace.

My drawings are fun for me. I love gardening and sketching these sunflowers, acorns, etc., has become very therapeutic for me. I put on moody Jazz or classical music, sip my tea, and look for shadows and contours as I am raw. I especially love doing leaves because the FALL season is my favorite.

My paintings mean something to people. I see joy and delight in their expressions. They are curious and this is what sets my work apart from just another “thing” to fill up the space.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting.
I hear people say it all of the time. “I used to paint but quit when I had kids, or I wasn’t that good or, I just don’t have the time for it anymore.

I say. “Just dig out the paint, get a new canvas, and start again… do it for you!” Never stop creating.

  • Paintings range from $500 – $3800
  • Original Drawings are $95 – $200, depending on size
