Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander Patsos.
Hi Alexander, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in New York. Since my earliest memories, I’ve had an attachment to music and film.
In my youth, I enjoyed spending my extra money buying CDs or DVDs and going to movies and concerts with my friends. Whenever a song, movie, or performance resonated with me, I would conduct my research on the band, actor, or director. I was fascinated by their creative process and wanted to learn about their influences, the meaning behind their work, and their backstories. Understanding the history behind it all was very important as it helped me connect with the artist’s work.
Before Nashville, I spent a long time in New York City doing my best to make life happen in music and film. I didn’t start working in front of the camera (acting, commercial, and print) until a year or so before the pandemic. Check out my bio in the link for more info on that: https://www.
In just one week of visiting Nashville, I signed with Tribe Talent Management for regional commercial and print work and Lady Savage MGMT & PR to facilitate a music release – it was unreal how quickly things came together!
I officially moved to Nashville in mid-January of 2023 and could not have been happier with my decision. I have booked eight commercial and print jobs with Tribe Talent, and in February of 2023, I released two new songs with the help of Lady Savage MGMT & PR. Check the link
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The entertainment business is never a smooth road, even when things are going well.
Actors, Musicians, and creatives deal with rejection daily, but we still have to push the ball forward. David Geffen said it best about the entertainment business: “It’s not about the ones who say no, though. It’s about the ones who say yes. Your life isn’t made up of the people who aren’t it.”
I struggled with understanding this concept for a while. I focused too much on what was not happening instead of what was happening. Many successful artists and creatives face this challenge – even the ones with a great support system and financial success. However, I have discovered that having a great sense of self and who you are as an artist is paramount to overcoming obstacles.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Outside of acting and music, I have experience in screenwriting and creative development for films and TV shows. I’ve been pitching my Movie and TV projects to studios and producers as I aspire to start my own production company soon. With all that said, I am most proud of relocating to Nashville and successfully rebuilding my life as a musician and actor. It is a validating experience to say, “I am a musician and actor based in Nashville.”
I take great pride in the move and releasing my single and music video, Beautiful Drive. Alexander Patsos – “Beautiful Drive” Music Video https://youtu.be/
I shot the music video on my iPhone with a small green screen and did all the animation and post-production on my laptop at home – it was a huge undertaking, and creating the animations was fun but challenging.
I may not be the most talented musician or actor, but I am determined to make a career out of it, and to succeed in the entertainment business, I believe one needs to have fortitude and be able to adapt to unique obstacles and circumstances that come their way. I feel I have this trait.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Throughout my journey, my mother has been my unwavering advocate and supporter, while my father has consistently cheered me on in his unique way. I have to note that my older brother has been really happy for me since I moved to Nashville. Regardless, I believe that no matter what, our families deserve credit for our achievements.
There have also been many friends and mentors who have guided me, but I want to respect their privacy. I’m very fortunate!
