Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Kerr.
Hi Christine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am the youngest of six siblings. I experienced trauma at a young age in my life. My mother passed away when I was only four years old.
My father was grief-stricken and was mentally incapable of taking care of us. My Aunt Betty stepped up and took care of my siblings, and I from a hospital bed. I also experienced trauma in my early adulthood. I am a victim of domestic violence, and I have experienced stillbirth.
Selfkerr is a journey to self-love. After my stillbirth, I was physically and mentally unhealthy. I had to take matters into my own hands literally.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has not been smooth, but it was all well worth it. I have experienced mini bumps along the road but my son is what keeps me going.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk-taking.
I was not one to take risks, I was always fearful of taking risks, but life has a way of forcing you to face your fears.
For example, before Covid, I was robbed at gunpoint at my apartment and had to move. I wanted to move before it happened, but I didn’t ever take the risk. It was a blessing in disguise.
Another risk I took, was starting my own business and doing pop-ups since 2022.
