Life & Work with Elbony Weatherspoon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elbony Weatherspoon. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Elbony Weatherspoon

As a Tennessee native and a single mother of three, CEO of Mommies Dreams Matter Elbony Weatherspoon knows first-hand the unique challenges that women face daily. This multi-talented revolutionist is on a mission to serve her purpose by helping others with her story.

Her main goal is to shed light on the gray areas that she found within domestic violence, mental illness, and police policy and procedure. Her experience showed firsthand the disconnect when seeking help for someone in a mental health crisis who refuses assistance. For her story, there were no definite protocols or procedures in place which could have helped tremendously.

Yet, instead of choosing to be a victim Elbony chose to be a survivor and help create the debate of judicial change necessary. Her story sets the tone to create the platform needed to bring the awareness that it deserves. This opportunity for change is not just for now but to help better shape the future for years to come. Elbony has always had a love for solving problems, but Virgo is using her trials and tribulations as a blessing to the lessons learned when sharing her story.

She learned to embrace losses as lessons from her life experiences early on and shared it through music with lyrical content many could relate to and now, she is taking a leap of faith to pursue her dream of becoming an Author. She believes that individual impact leads to positive community changes that are needed to change the world. Her motto, “Progress is a Process,” keeps her motivated towards achieving her goals. As a talented lyrical artist, she reflects the struggles of today’s society in her music while incorporating real-life situations all while Inspiring women to pursue their dreams unapologetically and emphasizing the importance of self-expression and determination.

Elbony’s Book: He was perfect until he wasn’t- A dating nightmare true story, will be published mid-2024. A powerful reminder that domestic violence is a complex issue that requires a multifaceted approach. Despite the challenges, Elbony’s perseverance and continuance to fight for justice shows what hard work and dedication look like, her story serves as an inspiration to others who may be going through similar struggles.

In conclusion, Elbony’s experience has made her a champion for change. Her ability to overcome obstacles and inspire others to do the same is a testament to her strength, wisdom, and determination to fix something that was broken from the very beginning.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has taken a lot of time, rebranding, restarting, and getting the guts to move along through all the hardships of being an entrepreneur and trying to create change within the community overcoming fears to speaking publicly about my hardships.

Alright, so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
I have partnered with Abolition Works TN nonprofit.

I am currently advocating for change to better our communities within police policy and procedure when dealing with individuals who suffer from mental illness.
