Today, we’d like to introduce you to Taneshia Jackson, CWP (Certified Wedding Planner).
Hi Taneshia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all started as a favor!
About ten years ago, my sorority sister noticed that I was naturally a very organized person, and she randomly asked me to help coordinate a wedding. She received my “Yes” with the understanding that it would only be “One Wedding.”
Little did I know that “one wedding” ultimately led to me assisting with many other weddings and events…and before I knew it, I was hooked! The satisfaction I received from seeing my brides and grooms light up with excitement warms my heart. At this time, I knew I wanted to do more with wedding & event planning, but I wasn’t sure to what extent.
Therefore, I extensively did my homework.
After researching more and more about the wedding industry, I aspired to gain more hands-on experience with top industry wedding planners. I hired a mentor to help guide me along the way.
Within a few short months, I was continually gaining referrals from word of mouth based on their experience with my specialty and newfound passion. I then decided I wanted to continue to move forward with planning weddings and events, making it an official business. I never looked back.
Golden Engagements was birthed in 2019 and thriving! I’m so grateful that I can do what I love every day.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
COVID-19 impacted the world and the wedding industry. This was a struggle for me as few people could have mid-size and larger weddings. Thus, business slowed down for everyone. I’m grateful that the bounce back has been better than ever.

Whether you have been engaged for a few days, months, or years, we meet you where you are. We bring your vision to life…creating golden memories that last a lifetime!
Our services include:
Full Planning – This package is for the couple who wants to oversee all the decisions but have someone else plan from start to finish.
Partial Planning – This package is for the couple who has started planning and needs assistance carrying out their vision.
Month of Coordination (Day of Planner) – This package is for the couple who has done all the planning and needs someone to step in and oversee the big day.
Micro Weddings & Elopements: Quinceanera’s, Birthdays & Anniversaries. We are known for going above and beyond. We understand you can’t get that day back, so YES, we do the little “extras.”
