Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Greenwell. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Kimberly Greenwell, home education expert and host of the TV show My Southern Home, combines her unmatched media savvy with a passion for seeing aspirational homes come to life.
With over twenty seasons under her belt, Kimberly educates homebuyers on topics of renovation and building from the ground up while introducing viewers to trusted local professionals who can help with properly creating a dream home, including architects, contractors, realtors, and interior designers in Nashville.
In 2009, Kimberly opened her media consulting firm, KAG Media Consulting, LLC. Her love of home building and remodeling grew rapidly when she took on PR for the BIA of Greater Louisville event, Homearama. Her work in the homebuilding industry led to an opportunity to host the TV show “Your Kentuckiana Home.” In 2017, Kimberly started her show, “My Southern Home with Kimberly Greenwell.”
Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Like everything in life, starting My Southern Home had its challenges.
In many ways, I am on an island by myself. I’m the only person in both markets who self-produces and hosts a home-related television show, or any show for that matter. I don’t have a coach or mentor to bounce ideas off of.
I wear all the hats, and the buck stops with me at the end of the day. You keep going, you keep learning, and you keep pivoting. I make the best decision I can and hope for the best. I love Maya Angelou’s quote, “Do your best until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better.”

I am in the midst of significant changes for My Southern Home! After being on the air since 2017 in Louisville, I have decided to close the Louisville market and air the show only in Nashville.
This was a big decision for me and one that was hard to make. I love Louisville; it has been my home for over twenty years. I have been splitting my time between Louisville and Nashville for seven years. The longer you split your time between two cities, the more you are pulled between them.
It became a very nomadic life, and I longed for community. I took a giant leap of faith, put my house on the market in Louisville, and moved to Nashville full-time. In the middle of that, I became a REALTOR® with Crye-Leike, Real Estate Services.
I am combining my expertise in all things home with my marketing background to help builders sell their spec homes and help developers find land.
What do you think about happiness?
I love helping people in their homes! It is what I do every day. It is your most significant investment, and choosing the right home-related company is essential.
My goal with every show and now as a REALTOR® is to connect homeowners to local trusted professionals who can help.
When a viewer reaches out and shares their positive experience with someone I had on the show, it brings me so much joy. It is my why!
