Hi Adam, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Hello! My name is Adam Calvert and I’m an independent and unsigned country music artist out of Nashville, TN. Beyond the stage, I’m an entrepreneur with a passion for real estate, with 11 rental properties under my belt. My journey began on a 20-acre farm in Southeastern, OH. At age twelve, I was hired as a youth performer at the Country Tonite Theatre in East, TN.
Following this, I graduated from the School of Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, OH, gaining recognition on MTV’s hit reality show, “Taking The Stage.” Returning to East TN afterward, I started performing my own original music at fairs, festivals, concert halls, and saloons. Alongside my music career, I ventured into real estate at the age of 21, expanding my portfolio to 11 different rentals.
Together with my fiancé, we remain hands-on in managing every aspect of both our rental properties and my musical career. Fueled by a lifelong fascination with business and a drive to be my own boss, I continue to pave my path in both the music industry and entrepreneurship.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been far from a smooth road. Facing hurdles and bumps in the road is just part of it! I knew that very early on. Whether it’s chasing my music dream or hustling with my fiancé to grow our rental business. Juggling the workload while still keeping the creative mindset alive.
My fiancé Paige and I are all about teamwork. We’re learning to let go a bit and outsource tasks to folks who are great at what they do, instead of trying to do everything ourselves. It’s all about finding that balance and making sure we’re on the same page.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My name is quickly rising to prominence in the Nashville country music scene as an independent artist on the cusp of stardom. I operate my own tour bus and trailer and tour the country with my full band. This past Spring, I successfully wrapped up a West Coast Tour, from North Dakota to San Diego.
In 2023, I surpassed an impressive milestone—200 live shows spanning 35 different states, primarily fairs and festivals. Sharing the stage with some of country music’s brightest stars, I have proven my ability to hold my own among legends. I have performed alongside acts such as HARDY, Joe Nichols, Lonestar, Neil McCoy, Phil Vassar, Parmalee, Canaan Smith, Jon Langston, Cooper Alan, and many more.
I gained recognition by winning ‘Vocalist of the Year’, ‘Artist of the Year’, and ‘Single of the Year’ at the Josie Music Awards held at the iconic Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN. I have an unwavering commitment to being an independent artist. With artistic freedom and a strong sense of self, I navigate the music industry on my own terms, creating music that my listeners want to hear while staying true to my roots.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I grew up on a 20-acre farm in Southeastern, OH as an only child with my dad working midnights most of the time. It got kind of lonely out on the property with just my mom and I but I had the farm animals to keep me company.
I experienced a decent amount of harassment and maybe what you would call “bullying” during my childhood school years due to the fact that I would sing at local fairs and festivals. Kids made fun of me for pursuing music but I believe that made me into the person that I am today. I’ve always wanted to be different and take the untraditional route.
