Rising Stars: Meet Paige Wallace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Wallace.

Hi Paige, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Paige Wallace I have been a Professional Makeup Artist for over six years. I first started my career in Milwaukee, WI. I have always been extremely intrigued by makeup growing up, specifically the YouTube Era. From watching my mom get ready when I was a little girl to watching endless tutorials of Jaclyn Hill, Desi Perkins, etc.

My first cosmetic job was working in retail for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. That kickstarted my knowledge and desire to learn more, help women, and build my makeup kit. I soon realized I needed more for myself so I decided to leave retail and focus all my time and energy on freelancing.

I dove straight into the wedding industry. Working for multiple agencies, booking clients directly myself, and creating long-term friendships with my clientele. The bridal industry in Milwaukee, WI holds a special place in my heart. I then realized I needed more of a challenge so I decided to pack up and move south. Nashville, TN was my destination. The bridal and cosmetic industry has so much to offer here. I am faced with so many opportunities and challenges that have me feeling overwhelmed and rewarded.

I currently am still in the bridal industry and spend a lot of my time doing social media. Promoting products that I can’t live without, mini-tutorials, to making videos for cosmetic brands you see in Sephora and Ulta. Paige Wall Makeup is a brand and name I created for myself, I share all things beauty, life, and relatability, and I really tried to make my Instagram account a safe place for people to watch my content and feel welcome.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been easy. Honestly making the ten-hour move down south has made me face many obstacles. I essentially started all over with my business. Left behind a steady clientele, family, and friends. I wouldn’t change it for the world though. It has shaped me into a strong hard-working individual.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in Soft Glam Makeup. I have been training myself since the day I started to create a unique makeup routine that is noticeably different and sets me apart from other artists. I am most proud of the celebrity clientele that I have been able to work with, and the way I started my career over by leaving everything I knew in Wisconsin and creating a career for myself that I didn’t even know was a possibility.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
There is luck in this industry however there is determination and hard work as well. They definitely play hand in hand. Luck as in if your video goes viral you see the follower number skyrocket. That leads you to more brand deals, more opportunities, and overall more revenue.
