Check Out Hannah Sears’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Sears

Hi Hannah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Hannah Sears, born and raised on the east coast of Canada. Growing up, my mom’s love for songwriting, 90’s female country music and Nashville really rubbed off on me. I started writing songs when I was six years old – it was my way of dealing with all of the big feelings I was experiencing.

Nashville was always on my mind; I couldn’t shake the feeling that I needed to get there. Even when I got married and had my daughter in my early twenties, that pull never faded.

Then came COVID. Everything went virtual, including Nashville. Suddenly, I found myself in Zoom meetings with songwriters, industry professionals, and mentors. It felt like I was finally finding my people!

In 2023, we finally made the move. We packed up everything and headed south – me, my husband, our daughter and our dog. Now, we are here and it feels like I’m right where I’m supposed to be.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I once heard, “nothing worth having comes easy.” That rings so true in my journey. It hasn’t always been smooth, but each hurdle I’ve faced has only strengthened my resolve to pursue my passions.

A lot of the time, doubts creep in, making me wonder if I am being naive. And deciding to uproot my family felt like a huge leap into the unknown.

Immigrating to a new country brought its own set of challenges – it was all daunting! But I was very fortunate to find a job with a team who not only understood my situation but also supported and encouraged me every step of the way.

So it hasn’t been easy, that’s for sure. But it’s all been worth it!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a songwriter and artist based in Nashville. Essentially, I am a storyteller who draws from my own life experiences to connect with listeners on a deeper level. I strive to craft authentic, heartfelt songs that really resonate with people.

What sets me apart is my ability to channel raw emotion into my music, creating songs that not only entertain but also offer solace and understanding. I’m proud of the way my music has touched people’s lives and provided them with a sense of comfort and belonging.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success is rooted in authenticity and courage. It’s about having the bravery to pursue what you love and staying true to yourself along the way. For example, as a songwriter and artist, success means writing songs that are honest and meaningful to me, regardless of commercial considerations.

Of course, I have big aspirations for commercial success, but at its core, success means creating music that I’m proud of and that resonates with others. It’s about staying true to my artistic vision and making a genuine connection with listeners through my work.
