Meet Josh Wright of Real Estate and Christian Music

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Wright. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Real Estate: Born and raised in Celeste, TX, a town of only 800 people, Josh moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University and pursue a passion for music. In 2012, he was a top 20 male finalist on American Idol. His interest in real estate started when he learned that Olympic medalist Alex Naddour was also a real estate agent. It wasn’t long before Josh became certain that helping people purchase and sell their homes was more than a desire; he would make it happen. Since real estate is often the most expensive investment someone makes in their lifetime, exploring options and knowledgeably guiding people through this process excites Josh the most. Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
At one point, I had $21.56 in my bank account with nearly $100K in debt. I also lost my father to cancer when I was 17, as well as my 16-year-old brother in a car accident. I had also overcome health battles when I faced anxiety, depression, and regular panic attacks in my mid-20s. I had to learn to trust God through Christ more than my circumstances and feelings.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m using the funds I have earned through being an award-winning real estate team to fund my debut contemporary Christian music album.

What makes you happy?
Family. Friends. Resting in the presence of God. Leading others well in almost every capacity, I find myself in a leadership role that provides purpose amid challenges. I’ve been president of my HOA, I often lead worship at Nashville Life Christian Church, I co-lead a men’s Life Group Bible study on Wednesdays, and I also lead The Wright Group, an award-winning residential real estate team at Compass RE. As packed as my schedule can be, unplugging technology and taking a walk in the mornings is one of my favorite parts of the day.
