Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Cenzano
Hi Cassie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a 20 year old singer/songwriter from upstate New York and I started out taking vocal lessons and acting in the local theatre at age 7. My first concert was Fleetwood Mac and I wanted to be like Stevie Nicks when I grew up. My parents raised me on classic rock and country music and my grandma loved Elvis so I developed a pretty diverse music taste at a young age. I moved to Nashville when I was 17 to pursue country music and I have released 4 singles thus far. The new music I have been working on is more authentic to who I am and has an R&B, alternative, California feel that gives me the ability to express my emotions, creativity, and confidence more than ever before. I’m excited for this next chapter in my career!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been a smooth road! I struggled with who I was as an artist for most of my life because I love all music and didn’t always know what direction I should go in and just wanted to prove to everyone I was good enough. When I stopped worrying about what other people wanted to hear from me or expected from me, it took the weight off my shoulders to finally create music that aligned with me and to discover who I am outside of peoples opinions. I want to be an example for young girls to chase their dreams and not give up when it gets hard.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a singer/songwriter and I create and write country music and R&B alternative/pop music. My most recent singles are country/pop but the newest music I’m working on for upcoming releases is R&B. I have a rich, unique tone to my voice and love to sing multiple genres. I have a music video for my song “Stranger” that was featured on CMT and I also model with Amax Talent Agency.
