Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackie J.Reid
Hi Jackie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Everything looked good on the outside. I held the position of CEO in our thriving family business, we enjoyed luxurious vacations, and I had all the “things” I thought I wanted. But the reality was quite different—I battled a persistent negative inner voice, faced challenges in my relationships, and felt stuck in unfulfilling work.
In 2017, following a period of loss and deep suffering, I spiraled into an undiagnosed depression and realized that I had lost touch with a greater purpose and connection in life.
Feeling that life didn’t need to be so hard and that I was missing something vital, I began seeking something deeper. The age-old adage rang true: “When you seek… you find.”
To find solace from my negative thoughts and break free from unhelpful patterns, I studied Eastern philosophy, mindfulness, spirituality, and psychology. I believed that by delving deeper into self-awareness and connecting with something greater, I could heal myself.
While these practices offered me glimpses of peace and profound spiritual experiences, I still found myself slipping back into old negative patterns. Despite this, I had tasted a new kind of peace and knew there was more to uncover.
Still seeking, I discovered Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, also known as “parts work,” developed by Richard Schwartz, PhD. This approach revolutionized my journey.
Similar to the movie “Inside Out,” parts work involves understanding different aspects of oneself (such as critical, angry, anxious parts), recognizing their positive intentions, and learning how to lead your internal system effectively.
Leading from a place of self-awareness, or self-leadership, involves operating from a calm, connected, and centered state.
I realized that without acknowledging and healing all parts of myself, meditation and yoga alone would not bring about lasting change.
Inspired by IFS, I completed a program for parts work through the IFS Institute, a Mental Health Coach program, a master-level coaching certification in neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), and became a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor. These experiences have profoundly improved my life and relationships.
While life’s challenges still arise, I’m grateful to be in the state of being I am today. Engaged in fulfilling work, experiencing improved relationships, and deeply connected to life, I trust my inner wisdom to guide me.
I am here to help you tap into your inner wisdom, embrace your boldest self, and live the life you were destined for.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been many struggles. Changing the way you think changes how you feel and act, impacting every aspect of your life and everyone around you. I began my journey without any tools or a mentor, making it confusing and lonely at times. There was a lot of trial and error, often feeling like I took one step forward and two steps back. Looking back, I see it was part of my process, but having a mentor would have made it much easier.
Balancing the responsibilities of running our company, being a partner to my husband, and caring for our children while seeking deeper meaning and fulfillment was incredibly challenging. The demands of both worlds often felt conflicting, making the journey toward personal growth even more difficult.

You don’t have to do it alone! Change can be challenging, and having someone to support you can make a significant difference. Seek out mentors, coaches, or supportive communities to guide you. Their insights and encouragement can ease your journey and provide comfort. I wish I had known the value of having a support system when I started; it would have made the process much smoother and less lonely.
