Life & Work with Eli Bordonaro of Bethlehem, Pa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eli Bordonaro

Hi Eli , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started playing guitar when I was 9, it was always something my dad did so of course I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. I grew up mostly listening to either acoustic music, or rock & roll, so I spent awhile on the acoustic before getting an electric. Around that time, I started to really enjoy the blues and just how unique it sounded compared to everything else. I would listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, and John Mayer all the time trying to pull out different things I liked and figure out what my taste was. Ever since then its been a blessing to be able to grab the guitar and play whenever

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Challenges are fun in music, they keep things interesting and make the progression very rewarding. I have never had any obstacles outside of saving up money working a clothing store job at Polo trying to get a B.C. Rich, I enjoy the learning process, it’s as much a part of things as playing on stage, so the challenges aren’t as scary when you take them in stride. One small win every day will get where you want to go, consistency is everything in life.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
For my professional career, I have bounced around a little bit in the finance world. Mainly as an analyst/project manager, I have worked for a few insurance companies (one of which currently), as well as sales, and private equity. I have always been a numbers person so I went to school for business and genuinely enjoy working in the that world. Sometimes the calls I get from friends are questions about excel, not music. It keeps life balanced.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Probably, as simple as it is, to just be kind to people. You don’t know what is going on in anyone’s life, a smile or little social transaction can make a big difference.
