Today we’d like to introduce you to Giselle Ramirez
Hi Giselle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My passion for makeup began at the age of fifteen, doing makeup on friends & family. I was born and raised in Alabama, but my roots are from Jalisco, Mexico! I graduated Aveda Institute as a Cosmetologist, but soon realized that I wanted to specialize more on makeup. I have taken masterclasses with many prestigious makeup artists, both domestic and international to perfect my craft, so that I can offer only the best to my clients. Growing up and seeing the progression of beauty trends across the US and Latin America, I’ve been able to create my own style. I LOVE to cater from super natural, to the most glam clients!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey to becoming a makeup artist has not been the easiest especially being introverted. This profession has taught me to be more social and to net work! To net work is to open so many endless opportunities. I have met the most amazing people in this career that I have felt inspired to keep pushing myself! To strive for my dreams that I was once felt were silly, but little by little, I am achieving!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a makeup artist/influencer. I started showing people how to makeup tutorials when I was 16 on youtube. This lead to me actually practicing those skills onto others and from there the rest is history. My style of makeup is a combination of both Mexico and USA. I offer flexibility in my makeup style. Love to enhance my client’s feature, never hide them! I have learned from the best of the best and invested in my education to always offer a luxury experience to my clients. I am always wanting to be the best version of myself, to make worthwhile the sacrifice my parents had of coming to a new country.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I have been extremely blessed to have such a supportive family! I remember my first iphone, gifted to me by my brother and parents, is how I started to film my content for Youtube and Instagram! I ALWAYS have my mom right next to me. If I need her to come with me to a makeup job, she drives me and helps unload my car. Being with such a supportive family has helped me achieve my goals and never has made me feel like my dreams were unreachable. Thanks to my family and to God, I know I have a bright future ahead of me!
