Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy & Jordan Klochany

Hi Brandy & Jordan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
A little about us, we are a husband & wife duo that takes nostalgic 80’s, 90’s & Y2K tees and bleaches them in unique individualized ways! We do not screen print as we are big on sustainability and giving back to the community. All of our tees are upcycled. Our passion is finding vintage tees and giving them life again with our handmade bleach designs. Brandy lost 120 lbs 6 years ago and started cropping her older bigger tees that “no longer fit” as opposed to throwing them away and buying more. This led to bleaching and finding a niche in the retro nostalgic shirt market. Remember your favorite food, drink, tv show, candy, band, movie, celebrity from childhood? Remember that warm fuzzy feeling? WE SURE DO! That’s why we created CroppedbyB! We try to recreate those feelings when you enter our pop up shop and “step into nostalgia!”. Try on one of our tees and we promise, you won’t take it off!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This is an amazing question as we come up on our 1 year anniversary of founding CroppedbyB! It has absolutely NOT been a smooth road! As I’m sure it wasn’t for many entrepreneurs and small business owners. We started CroppedbyB in our small home, as a family of 3 with our then 1 year old daughter. Jordan worked a job and Brandy was a stay at home mom. J was let go from his job pretty early on into our venture. We had a choice to make.. and we went ALL IN! It wasn’t easy and still isn’t easy. We have spent countless days hours and minutes putting our literal blood sweat and tears into our business to make ends meet. From spending hours outside at markets as vendors in all weather elements to bleaching our tees in the same elements it has been a test. We spent countless hours building relationships with other local businesses building trust to allow us to set up alongside their business and sell our tees. We have a long way to go but we absolutely love every second of what we do and the joy we bring to people who love our tees. The people have spoken and they want more from CroppedbyB – we are HERE to say thank you and how grateful we are for every tee purchased.

I think what sets us apart from others is that there aren’t many or any people doing what we do. The vintage market/scene doesn’t include a lot of bleached aspects. We like to go outside the norm and for lack of better terms, shake things up! Normal is boring. Shake things up with a crazy unique one of a kind bleach pattern no one else in the world will have.

What we are most proud of is making our business work for us and our family. We don’t do things how most families do but we make it work and our daughter gets to experience so many fun aspects of Nashville and the surrounding areas. We get to take her on so many fun adventures that our business takes us on!

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Patience. It’s not about our timing and our plan, it’s about God’s plan and the fact that what’s meant to be will be.

Control what you can control. The rest is up to faith, fate or whatever you believe in!

• We offer custom orders as well – bring us any of your clothes and we’ll bleach them starting at $10
