At her side is Randall, affectionately known as “Pop” – a middle school teacher and a mentor/Coach on the fields of football, basketball, and track. Together, they form a dynamic duo, creating a haven of love and learning in TN.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but every challenge has been a learning experience that has shaped me into the childcare professional I am today.
As a single parent with little support and trying to go back to school, I faced numerous challenges. My journey into childcare began because one of my classmates was homeless and had no family support. Initially, I wanted to start an orphanage to provide love and support to children like myself. As a 17-year-old single mom, I knew firsthand how hard it was to work and pay for childcare, so I started an in-home daycare at 18 years old to help other parents who needed the help like myself. That’s when I realized that childcare would be my lifetime calling, allowing me to serve both children and parents.
One of the biggest challenges was balancing the demands of running my own in-home daycare while raising my own children. There were days when it felt overwhelming, but my passion for providing quality care for my children and other children kept me going. I learned the importance of organization, patience, and creating a nurturing environment not just for the children in my care, but also for my family.
Transitioning to the role of director at a large early education center was another significant hurdle. It required adapting to a larger scale of operations, managing staff, and ensuring that the center met all regulatory standards. There were moments of doubt, but the joy of seeing the positive impact on so many children’s lives made it all worthwhile.
Starting All American Sitters brought its own set of challenges. Establishing a new business, building a reputation, and gaining the trust of parents required immense dedication and perseverance. There were times when it felt like an uphill battle, but my commitment to excellence in childcare services, my community and the biggest support of my family kept me motivated.
Through it all, the love and support of my family, especially my husband Randall, have been my rock. His encouragement and understanding have been invaluable.
Every struggle has strengthened my resolve and deepened my dedication to providing the best possible care for children. These experiences have made me more resilient and more passionate about my work. I’m grateful for every challenge because they have all contributed to the success and growth of All American Sitters.
