Today we’d like to introduce you to Trinity Swift.
Hi Trinity, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have been working on my record label since I was 6 years old. I started off by learning guitar while in elementary school; I was a part of a program called Little Kids Rock. Since then, I have always said I wanted a record label and nothing less than that. Although I started on guitar, by middle school I was playing trumpet and that’s what I continued to play even in college. Also in middle school, I started producing. I can’t say I was the best starting out, but I was determined to learn. I would attend workshops at the downtown Nashville library and send my beats to anyone that would listen to them. I admired record labels owned by producers and at the time I was obsessed with Dr. Dre and Death Row. Dr. Dre was the owner and main producer of Death Row in the beginning and I wanted to do something similar. In high school, I just continued to learn about producing and playing trumpet. My senior year of high school in 2019, I decided to go to Tennessee State University for college on an academic and band scholarship where I studied Business Administration concentration in Marketing. I knew music, but I didn’t know anything about marketing. I wanted to continue to learn things that would put me one step closer to owning and operating a record label. I also wanted to take the opportunity to be in the Aristocrat of Bands to meet other people that loved music as much as I do. During my time at TSU, I accomplished both of those goals as well as many others. In March 2020, I started my first internships with the Coalition DJs Tennessee Chapter. They are a local DJ group that focuses on artist promotion and development. I was an executive assistant intern, and worked on organizing files on most occasions. I also would listen in on New Music Sunday where artists showcase their music for the DJs to critique and repost the artists that participated throughout the following week. During my internship, I started managing my first artist, ShaunVelli. I was not openly looking for artists to manage nor was I experienced. I was reposting his music for my internship and he asked me for my honest opinion on his music. He respected that I gave him good criticism and asked if I would manage him. I was reluctant to say ‘yes’ at first, but after meeting him in person I was onboard. Before we started, Shaun had one rule and one promise: I have to continue to do well in college and if I drop out, he will drop me as his manager. Being his manager came with challenges, however we made so much progress. We already had an album of recordings, so we worked on visuals and cleaning up certain songs to start. ShaunVelli became a great friend and business partner. He pushed me to start producing again because I took a break in college, and we even made plans to build my own studio. ShaunVelli passed away in January 2021, and we met in September 2020. He has had one of the biggest impacts on my business growth because he forced me to learn things I didn’t personally think needed to know to run a label. I would have never taken the leap into management if it wasn’t for him, and I probably wouldn’t be producing still! I am currently working with his estate to release his work as a way to show our love. After ShaunVelli’s passing, I continued to work with artists at TSU and built an in-home studio for artists to use off campus. In 2022, I did quite a few significant things such as start my LLC for 3Peat Entertainment, participate in the TSU Music Business Accelerator Course, host my first two events, and most importantly graduate. I also met my second artist, Antowan White, who I am currently working with. My goal for my last year of school was to enjoy life and start connecting with people outside of bands, and I did just that. After college, I started hosting more events through my company and released Antowan White’s first project under 3Peat Entertainment, where I also produced the track ‘Parachute’ on the EP. I started booking shows for Antowan and networking more than I did before. In recent months, I have gotten accepted into the Music Makers Mentorship Program powered by Black Music Action Coalition and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and I am currently working on a new project under 3Peat Entertainment.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been a lot of challenges during my journey. One of the most difficult was moving forward after ShaunVelli’s passing. He was a good friend and he was also my business partner so I had to adjust to the new lack of support. I had to encourage myself because a lot of times my friends and family wouldn’t understand the vision until the results came through.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about 3Peat Entertainment?

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory isn’t a single moment; it’s more like a point in time. When I was younger my family (the Swift Family) used to celebrate 4th of July at my great grandparents’ house in Nutbush, TN. My great grandmother had 13 children, 29 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren by her passing, so I always had a big family. 4th of July was almost like a family reunion every year. We would pop fireworks, play basketball & volleyball, eat barbecue food, and just enjoy the country air. My favorite part of the night was when the uncles and big cousins would compete to see who had the biggest firework show. The memories I made in Nutbush are priceless and truly a blessing.
