Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley Stallworth

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
@haley.hikes actually started as a travel Instagram before it was what it is today. I wanted to share some of my international and national travels, but noticed I was posting a lot more of Tennessee and Nashville places – as well as plenty of content of my dog, Rocky – because these places were the most fun for me to share and I was exploring them more often. That’s when I switched my gears from a more broad scope to mainly Tennessee, specifically Nashville, posts. I love exploring and hiking in Tennessee and finding dog friendly outdoor adventures, and I wanted those who find my account to have an easy access to the outdoors and these places.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. I didn’t realize sharing lovely things about Tennessee would be so controversial at times. I’ve had people comment a lot about Tennessee being full and not wanting people to come here, and as a transplant myself from Alabama, that’s disheartening. Overall, the response is positive and I’ve had people tell me how much they appreciate me sharing these places.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I share hikes and dog friendly outdoors adventures around Nashville, the rest of Tennessee, and beyond. I also like to share hiking tips, dog parent content, and relatable videos for outdoors lovers. I’m most proud of the community I’ve gotten from this account. I don’t know if proud is the right word, but I’ve made friends from this account and it means a lot every time someone tells me they visited somewhere because of my posts. I try to include some humor in there to set me apart, and I’m also obsessed with my dog so I think he makes it unique.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I started my account after the height of the pandemic. But if anything, being confined to the outdoors as an only activity source helped me appreciate it more.
