Hidden Gems: Meet Lisa Coleman of Vesper & Vine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Coleman

Hi Lisa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My butterfly effect was our friends getting married in Turkey two months after our own wedding. My hubby and I decided to travel there for the wedding and celebrate with our friends, then extend our trip for a honeymoon in Greece.

While we were on the Greek island of Rhodes I discovered a small merchant selling olive wood. I had never seen anything like it before. The grain patterns and coloring were incredible.

After I got home I couldn’t stop thinking about the incredible pieces I saw so I spent the rest of the summer searching for a way to bring olive wood to the United States.

That fall I launched Vesper & Vine, an online shop dedicated to pretty things for your kitchen. 5 years later it’s my full time gig and I’ve helped thousands of customers bring a little bit of Mediterranean sunshine into their homes.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The early days were a whirlwind of learning. I had to quickly get up to speed on everything from sourcing materials internationally to understanding the logistics of shipping delicate olive wood products across the country. There were plenty of late nights and trial-and-error moments, but each challenge taught me something invaluable.

One of the biggest challenges was finding suppliers who shared my commitment to sustainability and quality. I remember spending months vetting potential partners, and there were times when it felt like I’d never find the right fit. But I stuck to my values, and eventually, I found the perfect artisans to work with.

What kept me going through the tough times was my unwavering commitment to the vision I had for Vesper & Vine. I wanted to create something more than just a shop—I wanted to offer products that bring warmth, beauty, and a sense of connection to every kitchen they touch. That passion kept me focused, even when the road got bumpy.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Vesper & Vine?
