Community Highlights: Meet Ronya Green of Rapha Healthcare, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronya Green.

Hi Ronya, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a board-certified family physician committed to delivering compassionate and comprehensive primary care to individuals and families. With a patient-centered and culturally competent approach, I focus on building lasting relationships with my patients. I have desired to be a physician since I was a child! I have a book I made at school when I was 9 years old that states “Someday I will be a doctor.”

I am a native Texan and am a graduate of UT Health at San Antonio School of Medicine and Baylor Family Medicine Residency Program. My extensive medical training and experience equipped me to address a wide range of health concerns, from routine check-ups to managing chronic conditions. However, I knew I wanted to practice medicine differently. I also earned a Master of Public Health and Master of Business in Healthcare Administration. I am committed to addressing the root cause of disease, adopting a holistic perspective that goes beyond symptom management. I also serve as a physician leader working to improve healthcare access and equity.

In 2024, I opened my own membership based practice in Murfreesboro, TN. Rapha Healthcare integrates primary care and behavioral health to treat the whole person. In my perspective it is not enough to simply treat symptoms or disease, but to be inquisitive on how one arrived at the place of having such symptoms. I love the direct access to my patients and they love the direct access to me. My practice eliminates the need for prior authorizations, deductibles, and other headaches traditional healthcare practices may have. I love empowering patients to actively participate in their healthcare journey, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment to ensure the overall well-being of those under my care.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve experienced several struggles throughout my journey. Encountering underrepresentation as a patient, for me was a deeply personal and frustrating journey. I remember feeling overlooked, as if my concerns were not fully understood or valued because of who I am. This left me feeling isolated and hesitant to trust the healthcare system. In opening Rapha Healthcare, I want to be the physician and practice, I needed as a patient. In doing so, I hope to pave the way for a more inclusive and empathetic healthcare experience for others who face similar struggles.

Rapha Healthcare is direct primary care with integrated behavioral care–a holistic healthcare approach that seamlessly combines comprehensive primary medical services with mental health support. Members receive personalized medical attention from a dedicated, primary care physician while also having access to behavioral health professionals within the same practice. Rapha Healthcare provides a unified and collaborative approach to healthcare, addressing both physical and mental well-being, ultimately leading to more effective, coordinated, and individualized care for patients.
