Hidden Gems: Meet Jared Benoit of Genovations Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Benoit

Hi Jared, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From Meat Manager to Real Estate Entrepreneur: My Journey to Owning Genovations Realty

In 2021, I took a leap into the world of real estate after a decade-long career at Sam’s Club, where I managed the meat and deli departments. My journey from in-club manager to overseeing 32 different clubs at the corporate level was fulfilling, but when someone suggested I become a real estate agent, my initial reaction was, “I HATE SALES!” However, she insisted that this was precisely why I would excel in the field. She was right. I don’t try to sell people homes they don’t want; instead, I focus on understanding their needs and helping them find the perfect fit.

A pivotal moment in my life came in 2019 when my wife, Hollie, and I embarked on a mission trip to Uganda. During this trip, God spoke to me in a profound way, revealing my purpose. He opened my eyes to the needs of those in less fortunate situations and made it clear that my responsibility was to respond to these needs. He also impressed upon me the importance of knowing the Bible deeply to be truly useful in His plans.

Upon returning home, I felt a strong calling to become more involved in the ministry Global Outreach Developments International. I met with Gregg Garner, the founder, and a fellow entrepreneur, to discuss how I could contribute to what God was doing through our ministry. The idea of starting a real estate firm came up, and after much prayer, we decided to take this journey together.

As I studied for my broker exam in 2020, God began to reveal how my calling intertwined with the real estate company. One day, an email about diversity in real estate caught my attention. Although I had already completed all the required courses, something urged me to dig deeper. What I discovered was startling: in 2020, 75% of white people owned homes, compared to 48% of Asians, 42% of Hispanics, and just 38% of African Americans. The disparities were glaring and deeply concerning.

At Genovations Realty, we are committed to making a positive impact on these demographics, even as a small, emerging company. One of our primary focuses has been working with local refugee communities, where we have already closed 14 homes this year and over 30 since our inception in 2021. As we grow, so will our ability to address these disparities and make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Our dedication to this mission is unwavering.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We launched a real estate company while going through a global pandemic. When many real estate agents were thriving off a hypermarket, I was focused on building a strong and solid foundation so my agents could thrive. Knowing that most real estate firms fail, I was dedicated to fulfilling the calling on my life. We have definitely learned our lessons along the way, but I can proudly say those lessons have made us an incredible brand for which agents can be proud to work.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Genovations Realty?
What should we know?
Your Move is Our Mission, not just a tagline but a foundation statement of how we operate as a firm.

What sets you apart from others?
Our Commitment to Excellence
At Genovations Realty, we believe that developing people is the foundation of success. We started as a small firm dedicated to big values and exceeding expectations in all we do by:

-Equipping the best agents to help their clients navigate this complex industry;
-Creating systems to improve processes and communication for both our agents and our clients;
-Developing a culture of advocacy for the marginalized to be a voice against the social injustices and disparities that exist in regard to homeownership; and
-Connecting our clients with trusted industry partners who have proven track records and share our values

What are you most proud brand wise?
We do not accept a newly licensed agent who does not get detailed training attached to a highly experienced mentor. Most companies play the numbers game and just let their agents operate on their own with no clue what they are doing. Our agents participate in a 12-week one-on-one training program and then have their mentor oversee their first twelve transactions. There are no exceptions. We aim to have the best, and we do not operate on pure hope to get there.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
No firm can be everything to everyone. It is more important to be what your agents need the most. Take away the major pain points while allowing them to keep the income they need to purchase the things that make them exceptional. That is why we created a 100% real estate firm where agents keep far more than with traditional firms. Early on we tried to offer too much too soon, trying to be everything to everyone. We learned the hard lesson that offering too much regarding technology can actually have a negative impact on many agents.
