Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Grace Dziagwa & Dana Lohr
Hi laura Grace Dziagwa & Dana Lohr, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Laura Grace: After working in student housing leasing and new development on a regional scale for years, I transitioned full time into real estate on my own at the end of 2019. It was exhilarating for about a week, then the COVID 19 pandemic hit and the world shut down. I went from being on stoked about a new career to wondering if I needed to start selling feet pictures online to pay my bills. Thankfully, my consistency has paid off and I couldn’t imagine another path for me. The industry, trends, areas, and clients are ever evolving, but my persistence to excellence remains constant. I’m a Realtor for people who don’t like Realtors because you come before a sale, always.
Dana: I have been working in commercial construction and development since 2013, with experience on notable projects such as the Long Beach Aquarium and Lumen Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks. When my family relocated to Nashville, I transitioned into residential real estate, which felt like a natural evolution for me.
It was during this time that I met Laura, whose drive and passion for real estate immediately stood out to me. I was impressed by her dedication and the exceptional level of service she provided to her clients. Our skills and strengths complemented each other well, and we quickly realized that we made a strong team. I often joke that I play the role of her ‘alarm clock,’ helping her stay organized and on track for the busy days ahead. Together, we strive to deliver the best possible experience for our clients.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing good comes easy, but as Jason Kelce once said, “Hungry dogs run faster” and that’s what you can expect with Dana and I. We are both fiercely competitive, but sharpen each other’s strengths. We have many similarities, but where I struggle, she shines and vice versa. For example, I live in Nashville, Dana lives in Franklin. I have lived in Tennessee for 11 years, Dana relocated from Orange County a few years back. I love to create themes with marketing, and Dana keeps us 101% organized, on tract, and punctual. The real estate industry as you may or may not be aware is undergoing some massive changes, but being adaptable keeps the boat rowing!
We’ve been impressed with Laura Grace Homes, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We’re proudly partnered with Parks | Compass RE – the largest brokerage in Middle TN with hundreds of agents, and the most volume of transactions, and largest market share. Compass is a publicly traded, uber competitive firm, so we’re glad to constantly be sharpening our skill set. There are a ton of options when it comes to choosing your real estate advisor, we get it. Everyone knows a realtor – heck, your mother’s brother’s uncle may be one, but we like to think we’ve got a leg up. With us, it’s like a BOGO deal for advisors! We listen to your needs first, while promising fun along your housing journey. Compass provides us with best in class technology while we provide you with best in class service. We answer our phones, 6am – 10pm, 7 days a week and are the first to admit when we don’t know something, but will bird-dog the answers for you.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Laura: When I was 2 years old I was in a TV commercial with Scottie Pippin, tried to outrun my parents hiking in Canada, and survived a near death dog bite to the neck by a bull mastiff. I signed up for my first marathon at 16 years old, and ran XC & track through college. When I’m not working in TN real estate, you’ll find me hiking with my dog at Percy Warner Park, or working on my personal renovation home in Anna Maria Island, Florida.
Dana:
When I’m not negotiating deals, I love exploring the world and experiencing its many wonders. I’ve had the privilege of visiting 28 countries and indulging in a variety of adventurous activities. Some of my memorable experiences include skydiving, cage diving with sharks, rappelling down waterfalls, and biking down a volcano. I also have an African safari planned, which I’m incredibly excited about. These experiences not only provide personal thrills but also offer me unique perspectives and inspiration that I bring into my professional life.
