Conversations with Andrew Thurbush

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Thurbush

Hi Andrew, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up homeschooled in a Christian household. At a young age I got involved in music, playing drums and later taking piano and guitar lessons (because what else is a Christian homeschooled kid suppose to do?!). The older I got I started to have more of an interest in the “creative” side of things at my church. Learning graphic design, video editing and how to use social media. Fast forward to 2018, I’m newly married and decide I want to buy a camera to start vlogging and making YouTube videos. I have consistently posted content on social media since then. In 2020 with TikTok on the rise and only my grandparents watching my YouTube vlogs, I decided to change up the content, so I started making comedy sketch videos which has lead to where I am now!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s kind of been like one of those roads that have filled in potholes, but you can still tell there’s potholes, you know? Over all it has been such a fun process. The hardest part is probably just been consistent. Posting content when you have no followers, no views and somehow end up with less likes than zero or just feel like you’ve run out of ideas. But the joy is also knowing that every time you post a piece of content it could go viral and reach millions.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Most of my comedy videos revolve around Homeschooling and church life. It so much fun to take real life experiences or observations and turn it into a piece of content. I encourage anyone, if you don’t attend a church, you should. Not only will you experience the joy of the Lord, but some of the funniest and craziest things happens at church on Sunday.

It has been so great to build a community of social media follower’s that have similar upbringing and life experiences and can relate to the content being posted.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Well, first my relationship with Jesus. I believe everyone’s life has a purpose and everyone has God given gifts that they are equipped with. My family, being homeschooled with my imaginary friends, the guitar lessons I hated taking, going to church EVERY Sunday, is all apart of the overall purpose God has for you life, even when we don’t know where the road with the patched up potholes is taking us.

Also, My wife has been so supportive since day one. She put up with being in my terrible vlogs, me borrowing her cardigan for videos and even filming my ridiculous shenanigans. I have truly been blessed and am so thankful for her and our marriage!
