Today we’d like to introduce you to Camen Moore
Hi Camen, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I wanted to something new, refreshing, and challenging to grow with. I first started flying drones in 2021. I was a stay at home dad during covid. Before, I worked in manufacturing and customer service jobs. Me and wife just had our daughter (youngest of three children) and we wanted to be around my wife’s family. She has a larger family compared to my side of the family which is very small. My wife decided to work from home and I’d take care of the kids until the kids were more grown. During this time, I was pondering how I could reinvent myself? What was a field that wasn’t overly saturated? What’s a field that’ll be the next frontier? And I had to factor in social distancing. And the fields that hit me were 3D printing and Drones. I studied with Pilot Ground School to become Part 107 certified. I watched countless tutorial videos and crashed a few times. Every flight is always different. There’s a new perspective of a sunset, building, cloud, to consider when art is is involved. I do still 3D print, but I haven’t built an official business yet.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Whenever you crash your drone, it can be heart breaking. All this money and/ or time invested, to see it disappear is any pilots nightmare. My biggest challenge so far has just been making a name/ advertising. My introverted and shy personality makes it a little of a challenge. I do all my editing and flights independently. Photoshop is a learning curve, though not impossible.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I absolutely love creating art. Every angle, movement, tone, and story told in every shot has to be calculated meticulously. Creating shots like latest Blade Runner movie I simply dream of. Movies like inception, convey new ways of adding layers to storytelling. I like to give anyone the chance to see new horizons and ways of seeing subjects through the services that I offer with Zephyr.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Sometimes opportunities will appear in the weirdest of times. Covid provided me with the ability to reinvent myself.
