Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeline Lee & Bonnie Morgan.
Hi Madeline & Bonnie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Madeline Lee and my name is Bonnie Morgan. We are the founders of Nashville Collective. Having both moved to Nashville from out of state, we were searching to form new friendships and to find a way to connect with the local community. We met through social media, which led us to create this collective community through the power of social media. We came up with the idea to create something that was more than just a social club, but a collective community that fosters relationships between locals, businesses, influencers, and other local organizations. Nashville Collective’s branding is targeted towards the true Nashville local, rather than the tourists. We celebrate the chic city girl who’s business-savvy with a flair of Nashville’s western roots.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nashville Collective has been a fantastic way to connect with and meet amazing people!
As non-natives, we’ve had to be especially creative and invest significant time in outreach, both to our members and to local businesses. The city is continually evolving with new faces and places, and while we’ve made many connections, there’s still so much more to discover.
Time management is a challenge, as we balance our weekly meetings with our day jobs. Although our events are enjoyable, they require extensive behind-the-scenes work—organizing venues, securing sponsors, running marketing campaigns, and handling other logistics often means late nights and early mornings.
We’ve been deeply touched by the love and support we’ve received through our Instagram and events, from individuals, creators, and businesses alike.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We’re all about fostering connections and creating a community where you can discover new opportunities, make new friendships, and embrace the lively culture that makes Nashville so unique.
We host social events to meet new friends, networking events where you can mingle with local businesses, and we report all the hottest Nashville things to do: concerts, shopping, events, restaurants, and more!
Nashville Collective Club is more than just a Social Club: it’s a collective movement to redefine the social scene and create a community in Nashville where every individual can thrive, connect, and flourish.
What sets us apart from others is that our target audience is Nashville locals rather than tourists. Allowing locals to create lasting friendships and provides businesses with opportunities to expand their reach within the local community.
We’re most proud that what started as a simple idea has grown into a thriving community. Instead of waiting around for opportunities to arise, we chose to create them ourselves. Nashville Collective has become a significant and unexpected success, exceeding our initial expectations.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something surprising about Nashville Collective is people often ask if Bonnie and I met in college, through a friend of a friend, or did we actually meet through social media?
And we really did meet on TikTok.
Bonnie posted a TikTok about moving to Nashville and looking to meet friends. I (Madeline) commented that I recently moved here and looking for friends, as well. Just by seeing Bonnie’s sense of style shown on TikTok I knew we would at least have fashion in common.
Long story short, after sharing salsa and queso at a local Mexican Restaurant we knew we instantly clicked.
Few short months later Bonnie was over at my house and we were painting our nails and deciding on outfits for a fun filled weekend in Nashville.
We started chatting more about our backgrounds with social media. Bonnie having experience as a fashion and life style influencer and I have a Marketing degree with a specialization in Social Media. We then began brainstorming on how we could create a creative outlet for us to do together after our 9-5s…and that was when the idea of Nashville Collective was born.
After the holidays, we met at a local Ramen Restaurant for a business meeting. We launched the Instagram and began working on the branding of Nashville Collective.
9 months later and we are now here… over 1,000 followers on Instagram, 4 happy hours, and 2 big events with 100+ attendees. Through our events and social media we have connected and worked with 50+ Nashville businesses.
