Meet Emily Girvin of @HealingArtsLmt , @Collectible.Arts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Girvin

Hi Emily, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey with the healing arts began while I was going through a particularly traumatic time while living in NYC. My mentor suggested I see a woman for cranio sacral therapy and body work. The body work she did with me was so transformative and healing. I knew then, I wanted to be able to help others the way l had been helped. I wanted to show up in this world as a force of love and support.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
After building @healingartslmt over the last decade, giving countless body work sessions, my shoulders started to give way. My doctor said “You need to find a new job.”
This felt heartbreaking. I didn’t know how I was going to show up for others and hold space for their pain and transformation , while experiencing my own.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
l think I’m most known for my healing body work. However, after experiencing some physical limitations, I had to find another way to bring beauty, peace and love into this world and peoples homes.
So over the past two years I developed @Collectible.Arts . It’s always been a passion of mine to search the world for special pieces, mostly antique drawings & oil paintings, but now I am making these valuable works of art accessible to everyone, which is especially gratifying when it’s artist who may have gotten lost in the shuffle. It feels full circle as I’ve now found healing in art, and get to share that with others.

I’ve also have been working on a collaboration with @ClaryCollection to develop an amazing aromatherapy roll-on , stay tuned for that !

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite memory as a child is being on a rope swing my grandfather made for me and my sister. It was hung from a beautiful birch tree, right on the shore line of Brant Lake in the Adirondacks. I remember the safety, the love, the sunlight and the freedom of those moments and I carry them with me thru the darkest of challenges.
