Community Highlights: Meet Kelly Henderson of I’m a realtor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Henderson

Hi Kelly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m originally from Annapolis Md, but I’ve lived in almost every region in the states. I came from Maryland by way of Chicago and then Washington Indiana over the course of a few months before I ran out of money and was invited to stay with a friend in Nashville Tn, to figure out where on the west coast I would end up. I wanted to be famous lol.
Fast forward to less than a year in nashville I met my now husband, in a hole in the wall bar, (he’s from the UK) and then not too long after we welcomed our children.
I’ve worked primarily in healthcare in Nashville and have a huge passion for helping people (I’m a huge empath) and had friends in real estate that boasted freedom of time and decent income. So I pursued my license and have not looked back since. I’m incredibly passionate about helping people realize a dream of home ownership and also helping individuals grow their own business and trying to find a way to integrate my passion and knowledge of environmental sustainability into real estate. How can we have equal and affordable housing, while finding ways to save the planet!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No. It took me ten years to take the classes and then almost two years to complete and obtain my license. It’s a tough business most people are in in for different reasons (not bad) but to me this is a people business. It’s tough, I’ve faced a lot of my own insecurities but it’s been very rewarding and strengthening for my character and my business.

As you know, we’re big fans of I’m a realtor. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a Realtor ® that specializes in buyers and sellers representation and I am a Certified GREEN specialist. I help and consult on what makes homes more energy efficient and how to save money on bills, and what are environmentally sustainable practices in real estate.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
