Today we’d like to introduce you to August Machen
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
This is something I have wanted to do for a long time. I’ve was inspired by the Bubbly Beauties Boutique, a local shop I’ve visited at fairs. The owner, Brianna, has been such a great influence on me, encouraging me to take the leap into this world.
We met for lunch where she shared her journey of running her boutique as a side hustle alongside her full-time job. Her encouragement sparked something in me, and I realized I wanted to pursue something similar.
Brianna offered her guidance, pointing me towards the best fairs to set up at and answering all my questions.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’d say it has been a smooth road, I have the best support system around me.
I’ve definitely learned a lot, and it feels like there’s always something new to take away from each setup. Whether it’s discovering what events work best for us or figuring out how to better align opportunities with our boutique style, these experiences have been invaluable.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about August June Boutique ?
I am women’s boutique, where stylish meets affordable fashion. I have a website, but I absolutely love setting up at events, and the best part? It’s meeting incredible people.
At these events, I get to help people find the perfect outfit that not only looks fantastic but feels great too. If you’re interested in checking out my collection, please visit my website, at www.augustjuneboutique.com but nothing beats the connection we create in person.
Keep an eye on my event schedule, that I have posted on my website. I can’t wait to meet more fabulous women and help them express their unique style.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Reflecting on my experiences during COVID, it strikes me how vital social interaction has become for our mental health. The isolation we faced was tough, and now more than ever, we truly need each other. Engaging with others fosters a sense of safety, belonging, and security—everything we sought during those challenging times.
As you know, I love setting up at markets. It’s such a joy to witness the interaction among visitors, especially at my setup. Meeting new people and hearing their unique stories brings a spark of joy that reinforces our connection as a community.
