Today we’d like to introduce you to Brad Oliver
Hi Brad, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up here in Franklin… After high school, I started in the Christian music business, helping artists with live events. During COVID, I made a change to take over my Dad’s merch company. We primarily served churches at that point and it ended up where I was the only employee left. We made the strtegic decision to purchase printing equipment and hire staff to grow the business. That next year we hired 8 people and about the same the next year.
Today, we primarily serve businesses, churches, boutiques and brands. We strive to create the highest quality custom apparel and merchandise with the best customer service.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been smooth… When we changed the company name and structure, we had a small amount of cash to make strategic investments. That year we took a big bet investing a lot of cash in people, systems and equipment. That is always hard. Learning manufacturing and production has also been a major challenge. It’s complicated to get thousands of garments every week in and out of the facility efficiently.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Culture Apparel?
Culture Apparel is an apparel and merchandising company that specializes in the highest quality custom products. We decorate items in-house in Franklin, TN. We offer design services with printing as well.
We have spent a lot of time finding the best garments for our clients. Sometimes that’s a more affordable option for a giveaway, or sometimes that’s a very high end hoodie or crewneck to sell at a premium price point. Regardless, we look for the best option for your budget and purpose to make the people that will use those items feel quality.
Our goal is to collaborate with brands, non-profits and businesses to create things that we want to wear and support.
How do you think about happiness?
I love seeing the apparel we create out in public. Whenever I am at a coffee shop here in town, I usually spot a hat or tee that we have printed and that brings a lot of pride in the team that we have at Culture.
Secondly… I love seeing our team grow. Not just in numbers, but the employees themselves growing in leadership and passion for the work they do.
